this little town has been built for tourists, you get round it in 30 minutes Expensive often home made gifts. crazy prices, even in the cafe's
So glad you found us! We see that you agree with what people are saying about our Palm Cafe'. Hope you have an opportunity to visit us again real soon!
Thanks so much Kathryn... we think you're a gem too :-)
Hi OmaAnnie - We're sorry our current expansion project was inconvenient for you. I know we certainly feel that way some days ourselves. You didn't mention the noise, so I'm grateful it was at least somewhat quiet while you here. We know the end result will make it all worth it, and we hope you revisit to see for yourself.I'm personally looking at ways to make not only the effects of our construction more apparent on a day-to-day basis (like when 1/2 of our bathrooms are unavailable as during your visit ;-), but also the schedules for our exhibits. On our website, we currently list the dates on all of the exhibit pages, but are looking at how we can make it more apparent when some of are galleries are between exhibits, as was your experience. We are glad you chose to visit. We hope you'll give us another shot when our galleries are filled with extraordinary art and if you wait long enough, our construction project is finished. We know you'll be glad you did.I'd like to offer a personal tour the next time you visit. We're really proud of our programming and educational programs here and I'd be thrilled to show you why!Best regards,Ken HannonAssoc. Executive Director
Glad you and your daughters enjoyed your visit with us at the DLM Children's Art Museum. We look forward to seeing you on the next rainy (or sunny ;-) day! Remember, that admission to the DLM while reasonable as you point out, is FREE to Dunedin Fine Art Center members!
Hi Kathleen S. - Glad you enjoyed your visit. Thanks for being so understanding about our "improvements." We're so excited about the additional programming this new space will enable.
Thanks Pnemiller. I think our museum quality exhibitions sometimes confuse people about some of our other programs (in fact we were voted "Best Museum" in a recent Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater Survey)! We look forward to opening our new expanded facility soon, serving over 4000 students a year from all of Tampa Bay (and of course a new Cafe' AND Gift Shop too)!
Were out riding bikes and ended up here....loved. the black and white display...also. the very colorful fabric art...especiallyPrecipitation.....enjoyable
To all young artists, do not make the same mistake I did. If you enter your works in a juried show, know that the entrance money will NOT be given back to you. They do not give this info up front so if money is tight as it is with most young artists, stay away from these shows. Dfac is no different. Beware.
They are always keeping it fresh here! It's awesome, because every time I come, something new and great is happening. It's lovely at Christmas time, because they have a hallway of beautiful Christmas trees. Great events are often happening here too. Very sweet workers. As for art classes and camps. Most are great, or even wonderful! But some of the teachers, I'll be frank, SHOULD NOT BE WITH CHILDREN. Most are fantastic though! It's only a few, don't worry. Still a superb place in Dunedin!
