Use to leave near here , took my wife here 27 years ago before we got married . Didn't think I would get back to treat her to lunch . Had great views .
It was a nice experience. We enjoyed the view from the highest level of the tower and we took photos. It was kind of windy and cold at that time so we couldn't stay too much up there. We went to the restaurant, which looked nice and had great looking cakes exposed in the glass fridge. But after staying for about half an hour at the table and being a little dizzy from the tower's rotation movement, a waiter came and told us we needed a reservation and that the whole restaurant is booked. We were a little dissappointed, but on the other side, we were kind of happy because the prices were a little high for our budget.
The park that surrounds the tower is quiet and beautiful, a little haven away from the city. The tower itself has a small charge to enter and one has to be accompanied by a staff member in the lift. The view from the top is panoramic - it's useful to have someone with you to point out the landmarks. The cafe just below the top of the tower is reasonably priced and their chocolate cake is delicious! All in all, well worth a visit.
The view from the Florianturm is beautiful! You can see all the beautiful places of Dortmund. The employees are really kind and help you to go up and down the tower in the elevator. The tower also has a restaurant, but we unfortunately couldn't go in the restaurant because it was full... We went there at 6pm so the next time we will go a little bit earlier so that we can experience the restaurant and the delicious cake they have there...
Cheap attraction to visit with a lovely view when you get up there, let down by not being able to come down in the lift without staff coming back up. Also to be fair once your up thee other than the view there is nothing. Quite often attractions like this have boards explains what you can see from which point etc but non of that here :(
Went up to the top one day trying to kill time. Ended up back on the floor within 5 minutes. Average at best, nothing to look at. Bored senseless.
This church is a testament to rebirth and rebuilding one's life. It was bombed heavily during the second world war and has taken many years to be brought back to life. I like that they did not try to recreate the old church in the interior but showed it respect through a modern design. I look forward to visiting in the future to watch their progress.
If your staying in Dortmund this is one of the MUST GO things to do while on holiday.Superb views ,great photo's of Dortmund and a really great experience.Easy to locate, just look up ,in Westfalen park,if its been snowing the views look breathtaking.Opening hours are midday till 10pm Monday till Friday and 10am till 10pm Saturday and Sunday.
stunning views of the city from the revolving restaurant not to expensive to get in only a 15 min walk from city centre
For only 2.5€ you can go up to see the city from above. It's cheap even if yoh add the entrance in the park of 3 € .
