This is an absolutely beautiful park to visit! But you need to be a member, and if you want to bring your dog you have to have a membership for them too. Once in a while they have special events there that are open to the public but there is a fee to attend. No day passes are available either. We live just far enough away to make it hard to get there more than once or twice a year so a membership is not worth the cost for my family. I'd be glad to pay for a day pass though and then I'd be able to give a higher rating.
We spent an afternoon touring the Grounds and learning about their plans for the future. Impressive gardens and water features. They intend to build an event area and additional parking. If you have seen you must.
Nice to see a legacy live on in our town. Wonderful species and animal habitat. Very well kept. /great for a short stop to enjoy nature's beauty.
Beautiful array of vegetation and water. WE have attended special events at this site. It is still in a partial construction phase but there is still a lot to see.
Still in the building phase, but is on par to become one of the midwest's finest examples of botanical display.
Relaxing paths along the water. Not too big-easily done in an hour of wandering around. Lovely vistas. Several great photo ops for those of you who like to take pictures. Some areas still being developed, but a worthwhile stop on our recent getaway to northern Indiana. We used our reciprocal membership from our local botanical gardens and got in free! It's a perk of membership we often forget about.
The gardens are small but lovely. There is a central pond with gardens and smaller waterways along the perimeter. There are many lovely, quiet nooks and plenty of benches. The children's garden is not built yet; however, there are so many wonderful sculptures that my children had fun identifying all the animals represented. I cannot wait to return, and to experience the gardens post-construction. Suggest visiting on a Tuesday, when admission is free.
It is a lovely place to visit for a walk or an event. Such beautiful plantings and water features. There is an admission fee but I think that there is a free day every week.
Surprising artistic and harmonious beauty in a downtown setting. A jewel of the community with a wonderfully consistent high level of execution. The landscape architectural firm also worked on Chicago and Milwaukee's Botanical Gardens. Displays change with the seasons.
The botanic garden has meandering paths passing by a variety of garden styles and sculptural elements. The walking is very easy. The garden is still being developed. I look forward to visiting again in a few years to see how things have changed.
