A nice scenic walk with views to Alcatraz, the Bay and the Bridges. Walk around the headland behind the Hilton for wildlife and further views. End up at Skates for a drink, a snack or an evening meal
Everything it its relaxing and beautiful to watch the boats coming in and out. Traffic is the only problem...give yourself time to get where you want to go.
The Marina is a great area for a postprandial promenade. The flowers, pebbles and yachts conspire to pull you outta the vale of dross and tears and into the Xanadu of mirth and merry.
We took a drive along the Emeryville peninsula. The area around the marina was very pretty with all of the boats. The best part was the park at the tip of the peninsula (Sorry, I don't know if that is technically part of the marina or not.) The views are expansive and gorgeous! You can see the port in Oakland, the Bay Bridge, downtown SF, the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin County and Berkeley. Amazing! It seems like a great spot for a walk or a picnic or just hanging out and reading a book.
There is a great walking/jogging path by the bay that leads to the marina. It's a great place to run as the sun sets behind the bay.
The Emeryville Marina is a wonderful place to walk-off a meal and just enjoy the sights and sounds that the bay has to offer. The path is part of the San Francisco Bay Trail - a network of walks that stretches over 500 miles in the bay area. There is ample parking along the way and it features sweeping views of the bay bridge and San Francisco. A lovely place to watch the sunset. Wildlife is at play here - lots of cranes and crabs to be seen. This is a hot spot of wind surfers which are fun to watch. A must-do if you are in the area!
when staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, I was able to head out, towards the boardwalk (take a left out of the front door), and then around the entire marina. If you go to the end of the pier, and follow the trail all the way around, it's a perfect 5K back to the HGI. Great views and wonderful "I'm in California!" jogging path.
Great walking trail along the beach. The docked sail boats, yachts and more, make for great backdrop pictures. Various succulent plants line the trail and add splashes of purple and fuschia. Recently planted bird of paradise plants are in bloom as well. Just a great place to relax and enjoy.
Very windy! But this would be a good thing for sailors, right? Nice location out on a peninsula near the Bay bridge and Oakland.
A hidden gem is the very hip city of Emeryville...try the lovely marina on the Powell St peninsula...super views of new Bay Bridge and of SF..try the dim sum at Oceanside Hong Kong East right on the water!!!
