This is a very beautiful and serene park. There are 5 metro parks in Dayton and this one is my favorite. Check out the rabbits and dears who run freely through the park. The playground for the kiddos is a great spot too!
This is a beautiful spot to walk and enjoy. The fall is especially beautiful, however, with the wild flowers and gardens any time will be a treat for visitng Aullwood.
We noticed an artist sale and decided to check it out. Many things from local people. Of course while we were there, we browsed the park itself, then drove through in our convertible. What a beautiful place!
There is no sign showing where to enter the gardens from the parking area. We did not find it until we went back out on the road and saw the gardens across the street. So we turned around went back to the parking area and then figured it out. The gardens are beautiful and a very nice walk. The house has etching in the windows. When you get closer you can see it.
Nice little garden. For some reason I thought it was going to be bigger, though not sure why I thought that. It was a fun little walk through the park. Grounds were well kept. Made for some great outdoor photo ops of our children. We will return.
Spring in the Aullwood Garden MetroPark is nothing short of amazing. The daffodils start us off, then in a week the hills and woods are full of bluebells, with scores of trillium the next weeks, then the lilacs, dogwoods, and the remainder of the orchestra burst into bloom. Not an extensive or sprawling garden, this little piece of heaven offers a nice little trek through the wooded area, next to creek and pond, all for free. Many natural plantings complement the native wildflowers.
I have enjoyed coming here for decades. Leisurely stroll through spring flowers continuing into summer then fall. There is a babbling brook the goes through the walkway. Just a great way for me to reconnect with nature and with my Lord Jesus as I walk.
Good hiking, beautiful plantings, a few fun geocaches.
We had been to the park across the street but so glad we gave this a try.Spring in the Aullwood Garden MetroPark is nothing short of amazing. A ridiculous amount to flowers seemingly growing wild. The daffodils start us off, then in a week the hills and woods are full of bluebells, with scores of trillium the next weeks, then the lilacs, dogwoods, and the remainder of the orchestra burst into bloom. We ran into a lady who explained the family who donated the land spent their life planting the flowers and arranging the stones. the results are so lovely ... great place for pictures and the trails are well maintained and easy to navigate. If your into birding this is a nice spot. You'll find Ponds, streams, fields. will bring picnic next time.
It is always worth it to stop by at any season and walk the many nature trails here. It is peaceful and calming to wander by the Stillwater River and the Aull farm. Seasonal events are geared to a family outing (such as Baby Animak Fest in the Spring.)
