Venue of markets is lovely, a historic building, and a 5 min walk along the main road from the Mantra.
Whilst not offering an extensive range of shops, we found a few things worth buying and enjoyed the atmosphere and the cafes.
very cramped Market stalls in mall style undercover glamour shed very expensive and the same thing sold at stall after stall
These little markets were located in and around the pub in the main street of Ettalong. Amazed that they are only open for a few hours a week. Nice little arts and crafts, beach themed shops, entertainment in the small pub beer garden and some food stalls make it a nice place to spend an hour (two if you want a beer)
These markets haven't changed much since the 80's, some stall owners have permanent indoor stores, over the times I've been there, I walk away empty handed every time.
Great to go and wander around on a rainy day, beautiful atmosphere, and some great shopping!! Very close to home
Some of these comments can be misleading so come look for yourself at the revamped Ettalong Markets. No longer poky look alike $2 stalls, this extraordinary building starting from Oceanview Parade is now a classy shopping arcade, housing everything from coffee shops, great restaurants open during the week, clothing boutiques, clothing alterations, homewares and a great movie complex. Also some of the shops are open from Wednesday - Sunday, not just only weekends. The shops owners are not all "country people" but a number of locals, pay them a visit,, I also wonder wonder where the person got the impression from re the portal-loos, there are quite a few toilets available,,
A visit to Ettalong market was a highlight of my journey to the Central Coast. The friendly staff at most stalls were very helpful and willing to get a sale in a relaxed method with no pressure to buy.The variety of things you could purchase as well as the food outlets made it a well worth while visit for a few hours.I will be back.
Extremely surprised to find lovely clean friendly markets with great individual stalls. purchased one off necklaces as gifts that we loved.
This is an interesting market place, but don't expect anything like a farmer's market. Commercial stalls and little shops with a lot of curios, clothes, knick-knacks etc. Nice to have a browse but not what we expected. Seems to have gone up-market.We enjoyed the Sunday market at the Diggers club more.
