DougThanks for the review and glad you enjoyed the breakfast. This review is especially important as it comes from a visiting Clubhouse Manager.Regards
Had heard about the iconic signature 6th hole, with the shot over the ravine and also the hole which is the longest par 5 in Scotland, and thought have to play it. Arrived and checked in with the pro shop who fitted us into the sweep at a reasonable rate, excellent. A coffee and roll and square before we teed off, again double sausage, magic, our local courses could learn from this kind of service. Played the course and loved it, particularly the front nine, it was in great condition given the time of year, especially the greens which are superb. Mixed fortune's on the course, played the 6th very well but messed up the long par 5, hey ho that's golf! After the round and the amazing views we were starving and ordered food. We all had battered cod, and the chef came out and asked us if we were hungry, we all said yes. We found out why he had asked, the fish were huge, it was like whale suppers, it was fantastic though and I did manage to finish the lot. The chef also gave us a free gratis portion of scampi to try, explaining it was prawns and shellfish that were caught at Eyemouth , and it was delicious. The menu was mouth watering and the service was first class, always with a smile. Full marks to the club for the course and the catering. Won't hesitate to play again.
Could just turn up no need to book easy access. Excellent food, never too crowded Lovely sea views. Very good ambience.
After a passing conversation with a friend I decided to pay the Resturant a visit with friends. The only thing we could agree with was the views from the windows, we gave the waitress the order and the starters arrived we had no spoons (for soup) and even one starter short. (a party of 3 persons)My main meal was Lamb steaks (I opted for chips as I do not eat new potatos with skins on) no vegtables either on the plate. I presumed the lamb steaks would be grilled. When they did arrive they were just pieces of black meat (STEWED) they had no taste and were very dry. On the Menu is said they would be served with mint sauce (none supplied with the meal) only a very strong smell of garlic (garlic was not shown on the menu)Will not being going back to this Resturant.
It is always sad when someone comments negatively especially when they do so anonymously. We have had a number of email exchanges over the past 2 months with the person who posted this review. Unfortunately he was not satisfied with our offer of 6 x Free rounds of Golf worth £240 even though our total income from his party of 6 visit, which included a courtesy round and 2 x 2fore1 vouchers was less than £100. We are always sad when someone says they will not return to our beautiful golf course but then again, in this case maybe not. His loss will not be ours.Mel LockettClub Captain
The chef, George, is passionate about his food - the freshness and his cooking. Staff are great to. Fantastic views. Been there several times and each time was very, very good. You don't need to be a golfer or a member of the golf club.
We appreciate your review and hope many TripAdvisor viewers read it. For those who do and are planning a visit to the Ryder Cup in September we are in the ideal position just north of the Border for any Golfer or Visitor to call in for a game and/or some superb food either on the way there or on the way back.

Thank you for your positive review of Eyemouth Golf Course and in particular the 6th Hole which has just been selected out of over 10,000 holes as one of the Top 18 Holes in Scotland.Mel LockettClub Captain.
