While celebrating our anniversary in Fairfax VA we took in a basketball game at GMU. Our niece is a cheerleader. Although the team fell short, it was a great environment. For the women games, parking is free anywhere and you can sit anywhere in the arena.
My mom sis and I went for a girls night out. The show and our seats were awesome. Can I just say "I love smaller venues!" Anyway, my mom was on crutches and accessibility was limited since she was not in a wheel car. Not to mention getting out of GWs parking lot stinks, stinks, stinks. Signage was poor outside as well so knowing the best place to park in respect to seating wasn't the best either.
Excellent local venue. Best if know your your way around eh streets. Much more convenient for NoVa than anything Downtown.
I saw a concert here over the weekend. The acoustics were good. The venue is smallish, compared to the Verizon Center or a large arena. Parking is free which is a nice bonus. The beer costing $13 is a little ridiculous. Beer is cheaper at a MLB game.
Enjoyed Circ du Soleil with Michael Jackson theme. However, tickets sold quite rapidly and I ended up in the nose bleed seats even though I was quite a ways from the very top. Sat directly in front of stage and some contraptions in the center ceiling of the arena caused a blind spot to some stage performance activities. In addition to these blind spots, I could not see performers on the stage very well and I can see "VERY" far away. I decided that this arena is better for sports games that take place in the center of the arena rather than concerts that take place in one end of the arena. Sound was pretty good. Enjoyed the show but prefer smaller venues for concerts.
everything was wonderful, the hotel was set up for alumni and made you feel at home. Friendly staff, great food, clean hotel with connecting underground parking that is well lit with elevator.
Wonderful place to attend events. Pretty easy to get to. Updated. Great campus. Music events, plays, etc.
The show itself was amazing. I really enjoyed it. If you love MJ's music and love watching great dancing, you should try and catch this show while it's on its national tour.. As for the venue itself, parking is very convenient and I found the staff to be really helpful! (They even give out free ear plugs!) The only real disappointment seems to be unique to this show. The other reviewers allude to the floor seating as best but for this particular show, the stage is built up from the floor. So the view from these pricey floor seats is not straight into the show but up onto an elevated stage approx 8-10 feet from the floor. Just something to know in case a show like this comes again!
Had a blast watching the Harlem Globetrotters. Seating was decent and the audio wasn't to loud. They have plenty of food vendors. They take credit cards as well as cash.
This was the second time coming to the venue for a concert and disregarding the WAY overpriced food and drinks and iffy acoustics the security is really bad! We had floor seats and your tickets were supposed to be checked every time you came down evidently some security did not get the memo because a group of obnoxious drunks managed to get down without tickets and were even bragging about it! No security stepped in to say anything when they were standing in the aisles, spilling drinks, or constantly touch my coat and my dates coat. You would think with paying so much extra for tickets you would get a tad bit better service! I definitely will never be coming back here again for anything!
