Thank you so much for stopping by! We think giving our guests a good experience is most important, and it sounds like you had a good one while you were here. I want to take a moment to let you know that the wines we use for tastings are pulled from the same cases we sell from. On rare occasion a bottle might taste different than you remember, and in those situations we are happy to try and make it right for you. There are numerous reasons wine can leave anyone with headaches, it depends on the person, their day, and potentially many other factors. A quick online search might help discover what happened. As the winemaker I appreciate your honest feedback and hope we'll see you again.
We were long for a short trip out of Champaign and found about the Salt Fork River festival. Being that Sleepy Creek is a half hour away and I wanted to put my hands on their Winey Marry for awhile, it was a no trainer. The venue was great. Lots of artists displaying their art work, live music showsevery hours and free wine tasting. There were only three food vendors which limited the selection significantly but this is pretty much the only reason why this is not a five star review. We had a lot of fun and spent a couple of hours there.
Sleepy Creek Vineyards is a nice place to visit. They have music and special events. I find the wines not to my liking, too sweet for me, except for the wine slushes which are refreshing in the summer.
Stopped in here on a whim driving through on a cross country trip to yellowstone. We had to get out the car for a bit. Had a wine tasting, winey mary, excellent! We got 3 bottles, would have gotten a case, but couldn't have fit it into the vehicle we were in.cute little shop, clean restrooms, snacks for purchase. Nice seating inside, and out. A big fire pit by the pond told us they must have some great evenings here. And it made us long to go back.Check them out. Friendly service and good wine are the best here!!!we heard they also have a wine and bed....they dont serve breakfast, but the do serve you wine and you stay on the proberty....sweet!
I love this place. My husband and I have been coming here since they first opened and it's been awesome from the first visit. First I was excited to have something like a winery in this area. The staff here is definitely part of the reason we come here. It's such a friendly and comfortable place to just hang out and have a glass or bottle of wine with friends or come on Friday night in the summer for weiners and wine. Yes I said weiners and wine. They supply the hot dogs and the toppings, you cook them over an open fire and buy a bottle wine to accompany them. It's a great place to sit and chat with people from all walks of life plus there is a very entertaining cat that wanders around. You can sit at a table with chairs or next to the fire or even more romantic is the swing right by the pond. I'm kind of a connoisseur (lush) of wine. There are so many really good varieties here that if you can't find something you like, I would have to believe you just don't like wine. There are even slushies for those that like something a little lighter. You have to try the Winey Mary. It's a very interesting mix of tomato wine and jalapeno. Very surprising. Pair it with the bloody mary mix they have and it's just awesome. It's been a great venue to see some independent, original music. Tickets are always reasonable and you can listen, drink some wine and purchase cheese or bring your own snacks. If you're looking for some place different and comfortable to go this is definitely where you want to be. About a year ago they opened a bed and wine upstairs. it's a take on the bed and breakfast idea. I haven't stayed there yet, but the place is beautiful. I want to live there. You have to go and just see this placeThis has definitely become one of my favorite relaxing places to go. it's a beautiful place, the staff is awesome and the wine is excellent. You have to go and try it.
I visited Sleepy Creek for the first time on April 27th. We did a wine tasting and the woman who was working was super nice! I was surprised by the variety of wine that they had available. We were told we could taste up to 3 different wines for free or taste the whole menu for $3. We ended up doing the 3 free samples. I tried Scapegoat (white), Hen Pecked (red) and their sangria. All of them were delicious and the sangria was like candy! Two of our group ended up taking a bottle of wine home and we are already making plans to return this next weekend for their Wieners and Wine event! I will most likely visit several times this summer!
We tasted the wines and purchased a couple of bottles for gifts. The Winey Mary was a spicy wine, but added to a V-8 jiuce made a great Bloody Mary. Nice relaxing place on a Saturday afternoon.
I purchased the Little Woody wine. To me, it seemed like they just used oak chips in the wine and didn't age the wine at all. They do have a great cheese selection from a local creamery, and the kickapoo cheese was awesome.
I really enjoy this local winery/vineyard. The staff is always friendly and the facility is very clean! My only problem is I always have a hard time deciding what to order. It's normally a choice between the Slushies (which you can get layered), the sangria, or a Winey Mary (tomato jalapeño wine with blood shot mix). If you are traveling or just searching for a warm feeling place to try I suggest stopping at Sleepy Creek Vineyard. You won't be disappointed.
We traveled 2.5 hours to the Sleepy Creek Vineyard for a night of music and wine. The owners have a knack for picking great artists to come and play during the winter months, it's an indoor venue so it's always a nice and comfortable place to relax and enjoy the evening. They have a nice selection of wines that will go with about anything, we brought fruit, cheese and crackers this time to munch on while we listened. The tickets are around $15. which goes to the entertainer, order your tickets in advance on their website as every time we have gone it's been sold out. Great wine, Great entertainment, and it's an inexpensive evening. It's certainly worth the trip. They also have a loft which is really cool and you can rent out to stay over night.
