Paved bike trail (or walking, etc.) around lake, goes through hills and woods, very nice. Also a very good Frisbee golf course.
I really enjoy going to Lake Fayetteville. It's always a relaxing place to visit, and I usually ride my bike there. You can take the trail all the way around the lake, which is about 5.5 miles or so. I see folks riding their bikes, running or walking the trails. Some is out in the open sun, and some is in shade. It's a lovely lake!
Lake Fayetteville on and off road trail is AWESOME!! Make sure to stop by Lewis and Clark and have your kids do the climbing wall.. GREAT FUN FOR ALL!!
I go here at least once every fall, preferably 3 or 4 times, to hike the trails. The leaves are gorgeous, with many photo ops as the colors reflect on the water. I like the dirt trail more than the paved path, but both are nice. My son loves exploring the trails, running up and down the dips and hills, etc.
Great place for biking, running, and walking. Scenic views and ever-changing scenery. Lots of convenient parking and connects to the regional trail system.
I've been going to Lake Fayetteville for years, there are excellent paths around the lake for both walking and biking. Nothing better than a good jog around the lake path on a crisp day
Love the now completed, multipurpose trail that circles the lake (about 5.5 miles). I often walk the southern part of the trail and love watching the seasons change. It's not at all unusual to see deer and, depending on the time of year, other wildlife. I wish some bicyclists were more considerate of walkers by giving warning from behind and that some pet owners were more considerate by picking up after their dogs. But the trail itself is terrific.
Many types of recreation can be practiced at Lake Fayetteville. The park has a vast disc golf course, three softball fields, a marina with slip and canoe entrance (under $5 permits), fishing (same price), and connects by way of a beautiful dam to a hard and soft surface trail at Veterans Park. In Veterans there are volleyball courts and horseshoe pits as well the trails. During my visit my girlfriend and I enjoyed trails and traipsing around the worn paths nearby. It was a lot of fun. It's also right next to a brewery. Super cool. Must do for a weekend once per year.
I love taking my dogs out here for a nice long walk or sometimes my husband and I ride our bikes as well! Can get a little crazy sometimes with all the professional bikers everywhere but other than that I absolutely love going to Lake Fayetteville. My husband and I visit at least once a week in the spring-fall!
We go there all the time. It's beautiful. Depending on what you are looking for, chances are you will find your kind of recreation. Walk, hike, canoe, sit and meditate, run. It's all great. It sometimes is secluded, so entires crowded. Feels safe.
