This place is awesome. The owners are so creative and improve things every year. The value is excellent (based on other attractions I have been to, they should charge MORE). The shows are excellent and animatronics are really professional. Very Well Done Howell's! Keep up the good work!
I am a Local. Born and raised. Been going to Howells forever. In the last few years they have decided to start charging. And I am ok with that. But I am not ok with charging an insane amount of money, like they do. We have three children, so it can add up. I wish the owners would take into consideration bigger families. Maybe a family rate on seasons passes?... Or not charge for parents. For us to enjoy this place for the month with our three kids, it would cost us almost $140. And that's not including any extra costs on snacks, or pumpkins. As a matter of fact, that doesn't even include all the activities inside the farm. The girl at the cash told us the admission keeps going up cause of the added things on the farm....and yet everything they have added in the last few years has cost extra after you get the gate!!!!! (Zombie gun game, apple cannon, pumpkin toss, etc). So if the attractions you keep adding are extra money anyways, then why are you upping the basic admission???Also the staff is extremely disengaged, and most of them seem like they would rather be anywhere else than at their job. My husband and I are constantly chuckling at how depressed the staff sound when interacting with us and our children.
We go here every year when we visit relatives for Thanksgiving. We go when it is just getting dark. The girls love the bucking cows, and the tractor ride. You can't see the animals very well at night, but everything else lights up and feels haunting. They added a haunted barn, which was fun to go through. Also they change things every year, which is why it is good to go back. Loved the fresh out of the over cookies too!
Not worth the 17$ they suck out of you for admission. Not to mention the 5$ for a hamburger. Or 7$ for fries. Suppose to be a kid attraction but you'll pay the same amount for more fun at an amusement park. Not impressed at all. Save your money and don't go here. The staff doesn't have a clue what's going on and can't honor any promotions they post online.
I went with my fiancé andraea.she told me how her family went their when she was a child and all the fun they had.they still go now we are all big kids.i loved being their with her our favorite holiday is Halloween and we plan on spending some of our time every year together at your beautiful fun farm.
We go here every year with the kids. We always get our haloween pumpkins here too. Sooo many fun things for kids :)
I was a little hesitant to visit the farm after reading the reviews. I am admitted;y cheap. I don't mind spending a little extra to support local farmers, but I don't like being ripped off. I got the wagjag deal at half off, and thought it was a great deal, but at full price its fair. There is lots for young children to do: hay jump, wagon rides, corn maze, animals, sandbox, playground, lots of displays. My son had a great time. The food was slight overprice but not outrageous ($4 for a large hot dog, almost $5 for a hamburger). The animals seemed well treated (keep in mind I am not a huge animal rights activist so my idea of abuse is small cages, bad sanitation, poorly fed animals - none of which was true of this farm). I highly recommend this farm. I will be returning next year.
My family and I used to go to howell's every year when I was younger now that my two little sisters are of age we brought them today for cheap night. It was awful! Cheap night started at 5:00 p.m but nothing was up and running for that time! Half of the attractions were still closed and did not open until close to 6:00 p.m. Everything is highly over priced now and not worth the cash. They were out of most of the halloween treats such as candy apples and only had the deluxe which came too $6.50 with tax. Horrible experience we will not be going again.
This farm is beautiful, there's no doubt about that. It's a real shame because they've gone and upped the price for everything. We're a family of three and to get in it was nearly $60 just to enter. That is extreme for a pumpkin farm. On top of that exuberant price, we *still* had to pay to play the the most exciting attractions--the apple cannon, the pumpkin sling shot and the duck race--which wasn't even working properly-- were all more money. We were hungry while there but decided to wait to get something to eat because it was so expensive and we had already given them nearly $80 dollars just to enter and play. Unbelievable! They're greedy and it's a shame because they have a nice farm with lots to do. Even the pumpkins are overpriced. It's too bad that they've changed their prices. There are so many other nice things to do for the fall season in the area, we won't be going back to this one.
I have lived in Niagara my whole life - I frequent all the local attractions because I am truly a kid at heart - now I have my own family (husband and 2 children under 2 years of age.) I agree - Howells (and most attractions) are expensive - I budget a year in advance for season passes I want to purchase so when I do have to fork out the money it's a little bit less of a burden - but as other reviews have mentioned - there are special days to make it easier on your wallet - I love Howells - I have been going here for 12years + LOL maybe more?? It is a very fun place - lots of things to do and see - I reccomend it to everyone. On another note ...I would like to see more attractions such as Howells, Safari Niagara, Marineland etc start to offer Family Passes for $50 ish dollars for a family of 4 for example. I think it would attract more business. Lol or at least make that $3.99 cold beverage you charge go down a bit easier. ........ Start making these family business' back to being about spending time with families......not a money grab. It would just be nice if everyone could enjoy the fun.
