We attended this on a weekday so it was virtually empty. $10 entry for adults, an extra $6 for the submarine tour, and $2 for the annual upgrade - well worth it if you go just twice a year! The maritime museum isn't linear so expect to walk paths several times. Go to this for the submarine tour. We were lucky enough to have our guide to ourselves, full on information, great attitude and enthusiastic about his subject. They don't allow bags on the tour but there are lockers nearby for a $2 dollar coin deposit
This is a nice place to visit in freo for free. I visited the museum in Jan 2015 when I went to Perth for vacations. It is very near to the beach, so if you go to the beach in freo don't forget to visit this place and as far as I remember the place had free entry.
Huge museum full of history of the wars, with many boats hanging above head. Admission price i $10 per adult, and can take as long as you want to explore this huge, massive place. Number 1 stop on CAT Red Bus, which you can catch a short walk from Freemantle Train Station. Beautiful views from outside their dock, 2 lighthouses in a distance as well as old submarine outside to your right. Small shop and place to buy drinks as you walk in.
Great family day out. Interesting facts and sights to see. Saw a submarine that had been built in my hometown in Scotland across the other side of the world.
Loved the layout of this museum. Set aside half a day. Open floors and easy to view the displays from multiple levels and angles. Went on the submarine tour - thanks to tour guide John we were given so much info and we totally enjoyed the walk through.
