Only accesible by a 30min walk through a rainforest trail or by boat (relatively expensive). But once there, and during the walk the view is gorgeous. Peaceful beach, clear water sea, rough waves, not for swiming. Bring your food and water because resources are scarce. A must view!!
If I had to recommend one of the things we did on our recent 5 day Floripa trip, this would be it. To begin, head down to Pantano do Sul, probably best to drive. There are estacionamentos where you can park for the day for 10 reals right next to the trailhead. The trailhead itself is located a couple blocks from the main beach on the main road, on an uphill looking path coming off the east side of the street. A couple hundred feet up the path you'll see the trail entrance on the left. This is definitely a significant hike: steep uphill gradient and lots of rocks and boulders along the way. Probably takes around 90 minutes to get to the beach, or a little less, moving at a good pace. Along the way you pass through a gorgeous rainforest and crest a mountain peak with great views of the whole area. As you start to descend toward the sea, you'll get amazing views of the beach. The beach itself is perfect and - at least on a weekday morning - completely empty. When we got there around 10am on a Tuesday, there were maybe four other people there. Shade is hard to come by, but other than that awesome waves and warm water. You can choose to hike back or take a boat from the North side of the beach, where fishermen have set up a tent. They'll take you to Patano do Sul for around 20 reals. It's a 25 minute boat ride back. Can't recommend this experience highly enough!
Accessible only after 1h walk through the jungle, which makes it very peaceful and even more charming. I truly recommend
This a great half day activity... hike from Pantano do Sul over to Lagoinha do Leste and back. It shouldn't be taken lightly.. wear trainers, take sunscreen, insect repellent, camera and a minimum of 1 litre water per person, but try to otherwise travel light. There is plenty of uphill and downhill scrambling so it's handy to have your hands free. There are guys selling drinks on the beach so you can replenish your liquids there. It took us over an hour each way, plus an hour at the beach and lagoon... so we rolled back into Pantano do Sul in time for a huge fish lunch to reward ourselves. The start of the walk is up a little side street as you enter Pantano and is denoted by a small, barely visible sign... the more visible thing is a rock with red writing on it... although there was a bunch of local old fellas sitting on the rock, obscuring it when we went... perhaps this was deliberate so they could have a laugh while telling you directions... maybe they wanted a tip, not sure. But once you find the start the trail is easy to follow :-)
Lagoinha do leste is a lovely and almost deserted beach to spend a day. We found it pretty safe to have fun on the waves, because although they were considerably high, the thick sand was flat and firm to step on, besides it was shallow where the waves break.Water is pretty cold, as usual in Florianópolis, but you can swim on a warm lake nearby, which is also shallow (about 1 metre deep). There are 2 ways to get to this beach: one is a 1 hour walk through the jungle (up and down hill, rather muddy and slippery on rainy days) or else you may get a boat departing from Sao Francisco do Sul (20 Brazilian reais) or Armacao beach (30 Brazilian reais).Take food and water with you, although there are a couple of huts selling drinks and snacks. If no one has already taken it, you´ll find shade under a few trees on the beach. On the side opposite the lake there is a spring, perfect for taking off sand from hands and for refreshing oneself.
This is one of the most beautiful of the many beautiful beached of Florianopolis. The hike there is half of the fun, it's rather easy, just be sure to take enough water with you as there are no sources on the way. I recommend starting in Armacao, you cross the surf beach Matadeiros, and then you start the hike. It's only one trail so it's very easy to keep the trail.
I strongly recommend this place. It´s really beautiful. Isolated beach in the middle of some mountains.
If you do the trail, be aware that this is not a place to go with childrens, avoid it if so, some places are really dangerous to walk, 3kms are going up, a lot of mud on the road and naked wet stones, and is long walk to reach the beach, once there the beach is nice, but no shadow or place to buy water, when its open you have a kiosk who charge you badly. i strongly recommend you take the boat.Avoid carrying
Every place in Florianopolis is very special. The view is unforgettable from everywhere. The sea is so blue in summertime that is like a paradise.
We went to this marvellous beach just a few people on foot trough a the mata atlantica. A local told us it is 45 Min to go, was rather more than an hour! Dont use flipflopes "havaianas". We knew, back we till take the boat. The beach was great, wather is rather high an powerfull. We asked the boatmen when he would go back, was 6 and it coasts 20 R.The beatride was adventirous, high waves, was fun!
