Ribeirao da Ilha is one of those villages which you see on photos in travel magazines or post cards. It's a beautiful, portuguese style, small village in the south west of the island, which is totally different from all the other parts of Florianopolis. The small houses, cobble stone streets, fishermen and the amazing restaurants make this a little treasure on the big Santa Catarina Island. Pick a morning or afternoon and ride by care or bus to the town, bot very easy! And make sure to include lunch hour in your visit to try the oysters for which Ribeirao da Ilha is famous in Brazil. Don't be shy and try some special oysters with melted cheese or ginger for example. Make sure to bring your camera to take some beautifull photos of the town and of your lunch!
Umas e Ostras is a place with the best oysters in the world.Fantastic view of the Baía Sul. Walking along the beach is a pleasure.
This place has an atmosphere like you are in another scene! There is colorful house and a old church from 1800's. Fantastic!
Don't miss a meal at Ostradamous, a top-quality restaurant in anyone's book. The town is very charming, with colored houses and a beautiful old church (currently undergoing restoration). Definitely worth a visit if you are an oyster-lover, as this is the heart of the oyster producing region.
This is the most picturesque village from the Azores on the island. There are some beautifully coloured houses there. The church is really worth seeing as well. The beach is very small but there are no waves as it is on the west coast. There are also many great restaurants and cafes. This is a place for oysters.
A gorgeous little village at the southern end of the Ilha de Santa Catarina. Beautiful little Azorean fishermen's cottages, gentle waves lapping on the (small) beach, restaurants along the water's edge. A quiet place that feels a world away from the city, when it's actually only a few kilometres from the airport and maybe half an hour from the city of Florianopolis.
Great, older traditional fishing village that has added many tourist type attractions for visitors. Fishing, jet-skis, boating, windsurfing, are all available. Restaurants of all types available for all budgets.
Went to restaurant Ostradum on Ribeirao da Ilha. The area is very cozy, lot's of small houses, very different style from what else you'll see on the Island of Florianopolis.
Old village in the south of Santa Catarina Island. A big influence of the azorean colonization. Small and charming church in the village square and very nice fish and seafood restaurants.
Oysters, oysters and more oysters. Nice restaurants, great beach for kids, colonial architecture. Make reservations
