The Town of Fuquay – Varina has recently renovated The Mineral Springs Park. New picnic tables and brick walking paths have been added to enhance the restored Spring House. The Park is a nice setting for a leisurely stroll or a summer picnic!William Fuquay, a French veteran of the Revolutionary War moved his family to the park site in 1805. About 1858, while plowing a field, William’s son, Stephen or grandson, David Crockett uncovered a mineral spring. Water from the spring was believed to have medicinal cures for those with physical ailments. Visitors came from near and far to partake of the healing waters.
A small park with a nice walking path. There is an old school house on the property. Worth a look maybe a picnic.
Very nice place to take a walk after dining on the main st. The Mineral Spring story is fascinating.
This is a cute little park, nice bridge over the water, great for pictures (8th grade formal, proms, etc) and is kept quite clean.
Thanks to the Town of Fuquay Varina for saving such a important part of the Town's History. This was a very special place and how the Town began as Fuquay Springs in 1909.
