The golf course is always in great shape The staff is friendly and the beer cart girls are there! We play every year on our golf trip to Biloxi.
Love this course. Secluded, but not in the middle of nowhere like Grand Bear. Challenging and may be a bit much for beginners. My novice friend had the overwhelmed look for most of the day. The flags seem to be a days walk away. lol...I highly recomend this course especially in the winter when rates are lower.
Shell Landing is a very well manicured golf course and is one of the most sought after courses on the gulf coast for tournaments. An upscale course, Shell Landing is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful and challenging courses I have every played. I have planned several charity golf tournaments for the company where I am employed, and have found the staff at Shell Landing to be not only very professional, but very helpful and accomodating; the staff goes out of their way to make sure that your tournaments go smoothly and are successful. It is not surprising that when discussing with my co-workers, as to given a choice...where they would like to have our charity tournaments...I hear a resounding "Shell Landing, of course!
Played the course on Thanksgiving week and it was in great shape. Staff was very friendly and really helpful. The course is a great challenge from several lengths. I played the 6100 yard tee boxes and really enjoyed the challenge. Would love to play it again and try to break 85.
Great course, well manicured, not impossible to play, and reasonably priced. They've recently poured a lot of cash-ola into upgrades, and it shows. Greens are plush and cuts are precise. Nice layout, with hills and sand mixed in with marsh areas and of course, water. Not easy for the average golfer, but not too difficult either. Clubhouse is beautiful, with a nice, well-stocked pro shop...and a cool bar and grill that is somewhat under-utilized. As is the case in most well-run places, the people are what make this club and course special...give em a try and you'll be as impressed as I am. Well worth it.
Played Shell Landing for the third time, still a very nice place to play. great condition, greens were a little slower then usual. enjoyed it very much.
The course itself was in very good condition. Fairways were good and greens were fast and in excellent condition. Many of the tee boxes have a lot of sand which does make it a little challenging on par 3's. Course is very forgiving and fairly wide open.Upon arrival there is no one to greet you at the bag drop. No GPS in the carts which makes it challenging to have a clear understanding of yardage and hazards throughout. No beverage cart roaming the course which was disappointing. The worst thing during the round was the course maintenance crew decided to come out around the 13th hole and start working on the sand traps. Very strange since we were one of the very few people on the course and we just happened to be on the 13th. They proceeded to follow us through the last several holes including the 18th. Not what I need while trying to play.Overall good course...challenging and in nice condition.
Shell Landing would be it! From the moment you are greated by the friendly staff through to the 19th hole where you will experience some of the best of Mama's cook'n you won't find much better. Love the course layout and the conditions are always top notch! Great starting hole! Love the third hole par 5 even though it seldome loves me. Everyone thinks the 17th is the signature hole but I will take #6 any and every day. Lot's to love on the Davis Love III Signature Course. Check it out for yourself and I guarantee you that Kenny and the staff will take great care of y'all!www.shelllanding.com and if you are looking for a Stay & Play the IP Casino is and awesome and fun place.
The golf course is challenging but not impossible to play. There are beautiful surroundings. We had a great time.
This was a great course. Staff was extremely curteous and welcoming. Greens are in pretty rough shape but the rest of the course was challenging.
