A lovely little place to spend a couple of hours. Full of historical artifacts, including a giant 3D model of Granada showing its historical growth, and a collection of aboriginal artifacts.
The church barely exists. What you see is a facade. The attached museum is ok and has some interesting artwork and statues. The best part is the flying game exhibit.
For $2, you can see historic paintings, a scale model of the city, and ancient ruins. Well worth stepping inside for a bit of history.
The structure of the monastery is nice (not a cathedral as the name in TA seems to imply), but the museum inside is poor. There are a few rooms, one with second rate primitivist paintings, another with a few pre-columbian pieces of pottery and another with nice pre-Columbian statues recovered in several sites. I am not sure it is worth the time and entrance fee.
Amazing to walk in the footsteps of history. It contains interesting displays which will enhance you knowledge of Granada and the finds made locally.Worth the hour we spent there if cultural artifacts are interesting to you
Inside the church is a museum of early indigenous people's statues and artifacts. It's only $2 to get in. Also you can see the old building and the back of the façade. Worth an hour.
The attached museum is worth the few cents they charge you. It's to the left of the church entrance. Their gift shop is pretty good too.
