I first visited the theater as a leader of a church children's ministry and thought the kids would enjoy it as a day outing. I was pleasantly surprised that I found the show amusing and wanted to return for more! Definitely worth checking out!
We saw a delightful version of Beauty and The Beast. It was great fun and the theater is set up for little folks that need to move around. The puppeteers were wonderful and the tour backstage was really fun. At the end the kids get to play with real marionettes. It was very nice and not too expensive. My kids have been asking to go back!
We enjoyed the performance at the Marionette Theater last summer. The characters are well played, the lighting and costumes are well done, we had a great time.
I've been taking my granddaughter here for a long time and even now at 8, she still enjoys these productions. The stories are told in such a way that all children are entertained and so are the adults. They have scheduled birthday party rooms with varied themes for boys and girls and all open to the stage. They also have marionettes for sale at a good price if you want a souvenir.
My daughter attended a birthday party here, and I thought it was well put-together. Maybe it's just me, but I found it a tad creepy. The puppets were scary looking and the story line didn't follow the traditional story (Snow White). We got a backstage tour and all the puppets are creepy looking! The staff is wonderful.
The theater itself is little, but the performances are big. They are professionally presented and fun to watch. Take your kids to see this place!
I liked that the employees loved their jobs and they were just so hardworking! They gave the kids tours behind the scenes and were amazing! Great place to go!
My family and I have been to 2 shows at the theater - Beauty and the Beast, and Dinosaur Tales. Both shows were the perfect length (about 45 minutes) for young viewers and the kids LOVED it! The puppets are well-made, very creative, and age appropriate. I did not find them to be "creepy" at all (as another reviewer said), and my kids were not afraid. (They are 3 and 5 and are typically very sensitive to things that are scary.) The staff was great, the shows are creative, and at $5 a ticket, it's hard to beat for a good, wholesome outing with the family!
My son loves puppet shows. We visit often and most importantly it is affordable. He enjoys it so much we plan to do a birthday party, because they have great rates. This is a great place to visit especially if you have younger children.
This was so much fun! A beautifully decorated theater, a wonderful show, (we saw Beauty and the Beast), Myself, my wife, and our 9mo old...$10! They do such a wonderful job! All the kids and adults were completely captivated, even our 9mo son couldn't take his eyes off the stage. It's located right downtown by the State Museum, Edventure Science Center, and many, many great places to eat before or after. (We like Jason's Deli and Carolina Ale House) Just a really great time for the money, perfect for rainy days.
