A good time to get away from it all. Such a large lake, with a road that you can bike on with very little traffic ( 3 cars in 4 hours ). Lots of flowers, scenery, and nature to relax you!
We went to the park for camping the Labor Day weekend. It is a really nice place. The place is safe and clean. The families camping here are friendly. I couldn't figure out any drawbacks of staying here for a weekend.Boating and fishing here is fantastic. If you don't have a boat, you could rent it here at a reasonable price, say around 30 bucks for 2 hours kayak. It just cannot be beaten!Oh, I'm already missing there.
We rented a canoe and did some hiking. Nice Amenities and cute little beach on the lake. Really clean.
Great state park. Clean water for swimming, nice picnicking areas, canoe rentals, great trails for hiking through mountain laurel and rhodies. Slightly off the beaten path allows for safe biking riding along roads. Camping site was average. Clean, modern facilities a nice bonus.
Promise land as the name goes is truly a beautiful and serene state park. The lake, trails and the beach...one can spend days in this state park without getting bored. We camped in the Deerfield campground and enjoyed it very much. Very clean park with nice showers and nice beaches for kids to play and for adults to canoe, kayak. Great trails for hiking. All in all, love this state park and we will be back here again next year.
We have camped at many state parks, in multiple states, and rank this at the very top. The facilities are well maintained, recreational opportunities abound, the hiking trails are abundant, scenic and well marked, there is a high level of security, and the park is both child-friendly and pet-friendly. We stayed in a cabin and, while the cabin is designated as being "rustic," it included a modern stove and refrigerator, a dining table with seating for 6, an outdoor covered porch, a fireplace, and a modern, private bathroom and shower. We hope to visit again many times.
This was my second time visiting a state park in the US. It was a holiday weekend parking was limited but we were able to find a spot quickly. The park was clean and the bathrooms were clean too. There were plenty of picnic benches available. Boats and kayaks can be rented. Kids can play on the playground. There were food, beverages and snacks available for purchase. We didn't go camping but just spent the day at the lake. I didn't go swimming due the fact that the water was freezing and I am from an island. I would love to go back to go camping and kayaking.
OMG what a gorgeous day to be out on the lake in a paddle boat last Saturday. The weather was perfect and the view just awesome. We had a great time in the paddle boat. Had a tough time deciding what to rent - kayaks, paddle boat, row boat, canoe, they had it all at reasonable prices (but no credit cards - lol). Bathrooms super clean and the wildlife was great. Even saw a snake. Will absolutely go again.
We just came back from the Poconos area and this park had outstanding views. Even though the water was frozen and the weather was very very cold, the area is very clean and beautiful and calm. Nice to relax and get cozy. A bit lonely, but I guess it was due to the cold weather.
Perfect for relaxing the day after a water park . Is very clean is not crowed it and there is boat rentals across with walking distance.
