This is the only place we found that didn't charge for wine tasting!! They are very nice, informative of other wineries, knowledge of wines. We have visited them twice now & buy from them. Their prices are also best price that we found at wineries. They also have some nice shopping items that is wine related but also non wine items. Very reasonably price!
We were very excited to see the Winery Tasting Room open on the Square in Dahlonega while visiting there. We were greeted by a lovely lady that really knew her wine! My husband prefers sweet wines and there were a couple he was quite impressed with. I on the other hand go for lighter wines and those also were on the menu. A great little shop to pick up not only the wonderful wines of Habersham, but also many neat little gift items to bring home. Well worth a stop if you are in town and don't have time to visit the actual Winery in Helen.
Situated just on the edge of downtown Helen, this winery is a must stop on your to do list! The building itself a beautiful old home painted white. You get to taste four wines at no charge. ( couple sips each ). Bottles of wine are very reasonably priced. The inside has a plethora of nick nacks that you can buy, some quite unique and nice!
My husband and I always stop here when we are in the area. The wines are delicious. There are lots of gift items too. I loved the t-shirts and the funny sayings on them. The only one I can remember shows a parrot hanging off a glass of wine and the caption is, "Screw the crackers!" If it had said "The Heck with the Crackers!" I probably would have bought it. :-) But the wines are delicious, with most costing between $10 and $20, with most closer to $10--like $12.95-$15.00. These wines all taste better than any wines we tasted in Georgia's "Wine Road" which takes one to 6 different wineries. We bought a bottle of the sweeter wines at each winery on a previous trip, and didn't like any of them. Tastings were $10 at each of those wineries and that is much too much. But at Habersham it is free, though I don't remember how many one can get for free. At least 4. But it was enough for us to decide what we wanted to buy!
my husband and I went on our anniversary it was a really nice and friendly environment. loved that the wine tastings were free gave you a chance to try it before you bought any.
This was our favorite excursion of the day. The wines were so good that we bought a bottle and I'm looking for them distributed locally here!
The guide on our tour was very knowledgeable of the wine process. The tasting room employee was polite and could answer our questions about every wine we sampled. If you get a chance to do the wine tour while in Helen it will be a great day trip and a chance to sample several different vineyards offerings.
After having visited the Habersham store in Dahlonega, we wanted to visit the actual winery with my sister and her husband. It was so worth it. The staff is knowledgeable and professional. The wines were excellent. so far, Habersham wines are the best of the local North Ga wines. All of us bought various bottles, and we will be back with more family members.
I love this winery! The people are friendly and I love their wines. It is a must see for a wine drinker if you visit Helen. I come to Helen at least 5 times a year and I always stop by.
The only winery that offers free wine tasting. The wines are all terrific. Our favorites are the scarlet and muscadine wines. We visited multiple times and everyone we met was terrific. The wine is affordable so we bought nearly two cases. Highly recommend adding Habersham winery to you itinerary.
