Great large and we'll maintained space. The flowers are beautiful and the refurbished fountain looks great. It is nice to have a large space in the middle of the city.
If you want a bit of nature and love old twisty trees, this is the park to go to. Trees there are spectacular. Nice big park for kids to play in with lots of equipment and a splash pad. there is another small park away from the bustle by the Children's museum.Off the park there is a greenhouse to visit and the Hamilton Children's Museum. Many events happen in this park like musical festivals. last summer we went to see the Aboriginal celebrations.Search in City of Hamilton's recreation site to see all events that are upcoming.
This is one of my favourite places to walk my dogs. The paths are always maintained (even on the snowiest of days). The gardens are beautiful and the Tropical House is stunning all year long. The old trees provide wonderful shade. Lots of people and great events take place here.
Now that the original fountain at the Main St. entrance to the park is up and running again, it's definitely time for a visit. Several major community events are held here throughout the spring, summer and fall. It's also a great place to bring the family or just for a stroll. Visit the greenhouses if you get a chance in the off-season.
Gage Park is so well looked after. The grass is cut, the flowers are well looked after they are so beautiful and colourful, the walk ways are easy to follow, and the Water fountain is so beautiful. There are 2 play areas for the children to play and a Water park. This is an excellent park to have a picnic.
Outstanding landscaping and design, lovingly cared for, amazing historical fountain recently restored, some beautiful and rare old growth trees too. A huge greenhouse. And a bandstand for big cultural events.
The park itself has a lot of flower and different area that you will enjoy in a peaceful walk during the morning or afternoon. This place is made to relax and definitely to have some great time in summer to tan too :)
Love the park, near our home. My dogs love to walk there and chase squirrels. Good concerts and events, and a beautiful restored fountain. Kids love the greenhouse and birds. I love the roses in summer.
Gage Park is a gem in the east end of Hamilton. A very large and beautiful park with fountains, lots of mature trees, beautiful flowers, greenhouses to tour. The Tropical House website follows:http://www.hamilton.ca/CityDepartments/PublicWorks/Parks/TropicalHouse/In the summer, watch for free concerts and festivals.
I try to run in this Park every chance I get. I'm a older runner and find the mixture of soft grass and gravel paths are easier on the joints. The park is large enough to do several but different loops. The flora and trees here are beautiful- many large trees. The fountain is now complete and a sight to behold. It would be nice if the various tree species were labeled like in an arboretum. There are so many different kinds it would be nice to know the species.
