Hampton Beach is cleaned every night so the actual beach and sand is awesome. It does get crowded quickly, so go early to get a parking spot (by 9am). Both ends of the beach are more family friendly. They updated the bathrooms recently as well as the seashell stage, and everything looks really, really nice!
Very easy to walk, not crowded this time of year. We were there on a weekday. Pets allowed after Labor day.
The beach here in Hampton is very nice and stretches out forever. One nice thing is that they clean their beach nightly and remove all of the trash from the daily visitors. If you are staying more than a few hours, I would advise to park in a lot rather than street parking.
Beach is great ! Lot's of room, clean, and shops and eatery's right across the street. Parking can be a challenge but can be found. Expect big crowds on nice days.
The weather...it rained this year :-( The festival has become larger and larger....We've noticed, however that there don't seem to be as many vendors as in years past
We had not visited this lovely beach in more than thirty years! What were we thinking?? It is just the most beautiful beach, anywhere!! Wonderful, beautiful surf that you can watch for hours while seated on the wonderful sandy beach or perhaps a bench, overlooking the lovely scene. The facilities seem to be new, or newly updated and are wonderful and clean and very handy for visitors. At this time of year, there was not a crowd and this was wonderful. We stayed at the Ashworth so parking was not an issue. Kudos, Hampton Beach! You're a true winner!!
Beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and so lovely! Good place to visit in the off season. Enjoy and take a look.
My spent three nights and four days in at Hampton Beach and had a GREAT time. I generally avoid ALL public bathrooms especially beach bathrooms - but this beach had the cleanest public bathroom I was ever forced to use. That says A LOT about a place. Additionally, the beach was very clean (I noticed it being groomed nightly), the locals and tourists shared space and blended well. There is a fenced play area for kids of all ages - this was a big "plus" for us as beaches can get busy and kids can be quick to run off. We felt comfortable letting them burn off some energy in the play area without fearing they'd run into traffic, etc. The large, beautiful bandshell (located on the beach) had music playing nearly every night. While I should note this was during the peak of tourist season and probably not the year-round norm, it was still a great feature.Although I have been to the east coast numerous times, I hadn't considered a "beach vacation" as something that would occur in New Hampshire...I typically considered beach vacations to occur in Florida, California, tropical islands, etc. But don't let the geographical location of Hampton Beach fool you - the temps were in the 80s while we were there with perfect breeze coming off the ocean. Definitely a worthwhile place to visit with or without kids.
This is a beautiful beach, and on this particular day, there were lots of surfers to watch. Nice photo op.
Linda an I spent a day at Hampton beach. Coming from Boston the drive was mostly highway . my wife remembers Hampton beach as a little girl. according to Linda, Hampton beach has not changed in the last 60 years. we sat on the beach which was magnificent and got sun burned. we then bought fudge and candy on the famous strip opposite the beach, and made reservations to see Ziggy Marley on October 12 at the casino. the day was over and back to Boston traffic. a great place to visit and relax.
