Tussendoor ergens uitstappen is mogelijk!
You can take the ferry, taking off in Einruhr and go towards Rurberg. They are both tiny villages but very quaint. Once in Rurberg, you can swim in the large lake. We did and we enjoyed it a lot.
The Rursee is a lovely place to visit, but the boat trip is a little boring. Have a walk round, and a coffee.
For one hour we made a boattrip at the Rursee with a large electric boat. We could sit outside and enjoyed the beautiful nature of the Eifel. We can really advise you to make this trip!
Loopafstand 4 km.
We took this boat for a one stop ride, since we were kind of on a schedule with a baby and wanted to hike back. So we got on board, told the guy who sold us the tickets we wanted to get off at the next stop and took a seat next to the door. The boat took off and after a few minutes we saw the next stop..... and sailed by.So I went to the ticket sales guy and asked what was up. Oh yeah, he said you wanted to get of at this stop. Sorry I forgot... And walked of. So I went to his supervisor to ask what went wrong. She said, you were supposed to stand next to the door if you wanted to get out. I replied we were sitting next to the door and no-one told us we had to stand there. Well, she said that was supposed to be the ticket-guys task. So I asked what we had to do now. She offered no other option than to sit this ride out, wait for 45 minutes at the end of the tour and go back again. I explained we had a baby with us who needed food and a change and what not. Her reply; than you should have been standing next to the door... No apologies, no free drink offered as an excuse for the long wait, nothing. As I by now reached my fury-level I asked what kind of service this was and she told me she did me a favour cause taking the almost full tour was more expensive than what I had paid so far. I couldn't believe what I heard. So after departing (again), I stood by the door for ten minutes telling everyone who wanted, needed and did not wanted to know, I had to get off at the next dock...The boat had a coffee-counter, which I out of anger did not use. The ride is rather boring, but the area offers nice hikes and for the elderly people it seems an enjoying event. I personally wouldn't recommend it to anyone, not even to people with all the time in the world, cause the service is un-Germanly bad!
