The lake was wonderful but the wellnes is poor and small for this compleks. The staff is o.k .............................................
Quiet natural hot spring lake, I guess the only in Hungary. Nice to enjoy it in autumn, when the foggy clouds go up and down....Take your private bathrobe, could be cold after. Nice and tasty food everywhere in Hungary!
It is worth to test once, but no reason to come back again. At the end of October 2014 it was nice to swim outside in the warm water. There are no interesting facilities for children.
If you are staying in Heviz, to visit the lake is an absolute must. Do not swim in the water, get one of those styrofoam rings sold everywhere in town and just float... And in no time you will hear the gentle sounds of ruffling water. Enjoy!
If you are for the first time, do not hope that somebody will care of you. The check in part reminded me the supermarket cash desk. No explanations - just pay & go.1) when you get the bracelet you have to check on the screens what is your locker number;2) during autumn the water will not seem so warm therefore it is nice to take sauna before. You have to pay extra for that. Please note that children under 12 are not allowed in sauna due to the fact that some people are naked there;3) if you are going to use a nice sauna world, then you do not have to go though the main entrance because sauna part is located quite far. There are two locations where you can have lockers. There are less people in the early morning even it seems there are a lot around the time of opening. All inside center circle start to smell like a grilled chicken place around the midday. Even despite these small things you have to know before, it is definitely worth to spend a day or two there.
In the winter the little Heviz airport is closed so there are much less tourists. At the end of February, it may be 0-10 degrees outside but the lake is at 26-28 outside and 36 at least inside. There are ramps inside the lake to rest if you do not have floating devices.Coming in during the last 2 hours (15h-17h) gets you the best entry ticket at only 1,600 forints. It is also when the sun gets low and it makes the nicest photos. No need to take the sauna world if your hotel provides it (we stayed at the Lotus which has sauna and hamam).Without an entry ticket you may use the Festetics day spa (south entrance, further from the city center than the main entrance) offering massages, manicures and pedicures.
Although the lake and the buildings look good and have an interesting structure, I'm not sure I would recommend the bath to anyone, at least not in the winter. The water (inside) was almost cold, that's OK I suppose, but in the building it was cold as well. Several windows were open (it was 0 C), and could not be closed. We saw staff trying to close one, I don't know whether they succeeded or not. We had bathrobes and packed our feet in towels and drank tea but had to leave after 3 hours although we paid for 4. And all the time it was a strong smell everywhere from baked fish... The metal structure and the hand rails in the water are kind of disgusting, full of moss and sticky. Im not at all surprised that german guests seem to have disappeared from here; that's exactly what I'm going to do as well. :)
A world class thermal bath located near to Lake Balaton. If you have not been here before and you have a chance, it is a must to visit place. This time the lake was a bit cold for swimming (1st of January) and also indoors was a bit too cold in the water and also in the building. The Sauna was full so we had no chance to try it. The infrastructure should be improved to meet the demands of visitors. Alltogeteher positive impressions but improvement needed.
You can swimming outside in the nature lake in the water of 26c when the air temperature it is -3 or less..
The healing waters of this resort are worth every penny you spend to get here. We felt amazing after a 5 hour family pass, ate lunch, took a nap and would recommend to anyone.
