I have grown up here as well as my children. It's a little pricey for it's size and food considering we can drive to King's Island for almost the same price.
Park was always a good place to go as a kid! As time goes by it gets in more disrepair. Good place to start with your younger children for amusement parks. My teen finds it boring now. :( Overall, it's worth the trip but it is a little bit expensive for the quality of rides that they offer.
I grew up in Huntington, WV and this was the place to go for many of my years for fun. So disappointed on last visit. Time and neglect have really taken it's toll overall. The admission is ridiculous and the fee for parking. I know it takes money to keep the park up, pay employees, etc... but come on - use some of it to paint, repair and clean up. My biggest disappointment was the best food in the park - corn dogs/pronto pups. Greasy and not well cooked. So long Camden Park - won't be back.
I went here as a child but had not been in over 30 years. I was pleasantly surprised based on some of the reviews I had read. It needs paint and the bathrooms needed cleaned but all rides were operating all day and staff was very friendly. Lines were not long and I got our tickets online for $14.99 each. Concessions were reasonable. ..cheaper than at the movies. You will be disappointed if you are expecting Kings Island or Disney World. If you go expecting a fair type experience with a log flume and coaster etc you will be pleased! Great experience!
I have lived in the area for 14 years and never visited this park because of the price. We finally went with a group of friends and I was pretty bored. My 2 yr old daughter loved it but it was horrible for anyone over 12. I would recommend driving to a larger park.
Originally the destination of a trolley line, park captures mainstream America. Good value and perfect day for younger children and the adults that accompany them
If you like the old roadside style amusement park, you owe it to yourself to visit Camden Park. What a great time, especially for my daughter. As long as you don't mind old rides that have a mind of their own (frequently closed for repair), you can't lose.
At least they offered a discount when we visited - $40 per car. Multiple ride malfunctions, even one my kids were on - brakes went out on the Rattler. Poor lighting after dark. No lights on the log ride.
For the convenience of being close by it's ok but it defiantly needs some repairs but it does bring back nice childhood memories
Camden Park is a very old amusement park that in its day was the best around. It is small scale and good for young families because it is small. The park could use some major painting and updating. There are some modern rides for older kids and rides seem to be in fairly good operations. Food is very inexpensive and good. It was clean.
