Playgrounds pools and parks everywhere. Jogging trails and biking and walking trails. The gym my husband went to was one of the nicest he's ever been to. If you are stationed here you are lucky. One bad thing is vicious dogs in yards with jump able fences.
I have seen many things change on this base over the last 25 years but the underlying current of the place is one of military might. From the Museum, captured weapons from the Iraq war, to the veteran memorial and the beautiful Warrior's walk, it is a strong and proud base.
we went to the exchange and got school clothes for the kids and special discounts on school supplies. nice shopping area and foodcourt inside too!!!!
I visited with my daughter's family. The only thing I didn't like was having to apply for a pass to get on base every 3 days. It takes any where from 20 minutes to an hour to obtain a pass. I hope the powers that be reconsider week passes for the Holidays.
3rd ID Rock of the Marne, what more can I say? Awesome base full of hard charging War Fighter's. God Bless America.
fort Stewart is home of the 3rd ID. Don't miss the Warriors walk in memory of the fallen soldiers. It's very solemn and moving. It also has a museum to view items from the wars. Tanks, and helicopters greet you as you enter the main gate that were also used in the wars. Enjoy the Ft Stewart journey! Give our military the honor they deserve.
Ft. Stewart is a nice quiet place. Love visiting our son there and Warrior's Walk. My friend's sons' Memorial is there.
I'm in town visiting. The base is very tidy and well organized. The people were very friendly. I enjoyed visiting the fallen soldier memorial and paying my respects.
Very clean, easy to navigate, friendly people, and always helpful. The pool was good to relax by, the park was good to walk around and we felt safe. The fireworks on the 4th was definitely a treat.
They claim to be friendly with easy access to areas either facilities to use for everyone or just passing through, but the opposite is true.
