I have been visiting Red River and the Community House since 1976. They offer activities for all ages including yoga classes, movies on the lawn, s'mores & story time, various hikes, dutch oven cooking classes, line dancing, worship services and much more. All activities are free. They operate on donations only. The staff members are helpful and friendly. The Community House never disappoints. Love, love, love the Community House!
Love the Community House! Make sure to go on line dancing night. Fun for kids and adults of all ages. You'll like it even if you don't think you will.
We were completely amazed with the number of activities offered by the Community House. We heard a dulcimer concert, went on a nature hike, went on a hike to Middle Fork Lake.......Keep up the great work!
We went to Red River because we were looking for someplace new that was within driving distance. What a great surprise we got when we experienced the most child friendly place we have ever been to. The Community House has activities every day and often several times per day for the kids to enjoy and they are all free! We all spent most of our vacation participating in the many activities that the Community House has to offer. I was more than willing to give generously to their donation box in order to help preserve this wonderful place for families. I highly recommend it!
We attended church on Sunday morning! Great time with singing and praising. Good music on Saturday night and picking on the porch.
We were there during the Bluegrass Festival and attended several of the performances. The performers were very talented and we would attend again. We also attended a worship service there on Sunday morning and really enjoyed worshipping with many friendly locals.
We did s'mores two different nights. On a previous visit, we did the boat building which was also popular. Thanks for offering it & allowing our kids to make new friends!
This Red River Community really know how to make you feel welcome. So many activities that were really fun and educational. Our large family enjoyed many of their programs. We where introduced to Geocacheing. The kids got to build and paint boats and float them down the river. We made smores and sang songs. And spent time just enjoying the Rocking Chairs and chatting with the locals or the other families visiting. The program directors and the staff where great and must love their jobs. All is free, but donations are gently asked for. But after you see how much fun your family is having, you are more than willing to give.Because it's worth it.
Wonderful Christain brothers and sisters.! We were greeted first off and visited with several locals before the service began. The community house is a beautiful building.
This was our first trip to Red River, and we only had 2 full days. The Community House had free events almost all day, both days. My 11 year old son built a boat and raced it in the Red River against other kids. He kept the boat as a souvenier, and it was all free. They also had square dancing/2-stepping/line dancing 2 evenings. This place really adds to the charm of Red River.
