There is usually wildlife to be viewed in Hayden Valley. Summer wildlife can be bountiful and the animals can be seen from the car.
We seen an overwhelming amount of bison in Hayden Valley, but we all so see a bear, two cubs and antelope in the fields
Hayden Valley and Lamar Valley are the top two places to go to the see the wildlife. We did see a lot of bison and a even a calf. In addition, we also seen a coyote and a fox while we were in this area. In addition, to the wildlife the scenery is fabulous.
Imagine this: you're driving along the Hayden Valley, and there in the distance a big, blobby, brown object seems to move. You get your binoculars, and there it is A GRIZZLY BEAR...in February. Playing with a log, rolling on the snow, crossing a river, crossing the road, digging a day bed, taking a nap. I could have watched this creature for hours but there are more treasures along the road...like a red fox hunting for mice, and coyotes on the prowl, trumpeter swans napping along the river and Canadian geese floatiing around. A great place to be visited and revered for its natural treasures.
Lamar and Hayden valleys are the places for wildlife. You just watch for stopped cars to know where to find them. And luckily there is alot to stop for. Eagles, chipmunks, buffalo, some parts elk. We were most thrilled by Wolves but saw out of naturalists who shared their telescopes with us. We did not see bears on this trip but did go to the west entrance to a animal reserve/animal rescue and saw the biggest bears in the world. Kodiaks and upclose wolves totally worth the trip, but it on the list of things to do. Don't say I didn't warn ya.
This is a beautiful valley with the Yellowstone River running through it. There is a nice picnic area at buffalo ford and plenty of opportunities to view animals. 50 years ago there were few buffalo, now they are everywhere. You may also see bears, so watch the other side of the river too.
We have seen the Canyon Pack of wolves on two separate trips through Hayden Valley. The road between Fishing Bridge and Canyon Village follows the Yellowstone River for 16 miles through beautiful Hayden Valley. Wildlife is guaranteed. Enjoy.
Each time we drove through here -- going to and from Yellowstone Lake accommodations -- there were lots of bison. They were crossing the road, walking in front of buses, running to the river. It was great!
在黄石的东侧偏北的地方,所谓valley就是森林前面的一大片草原,有河流经过,适合动物们在清晨傍晚时出没觅食的地方,所以拿个望远镜在这里守着,总能看到狼或者熊
