Beautiful area with large selection of entertainment and dining experiences. Beautiful area to stroll during the spring and summer. The residences keep the area clean and beautiful to look at.
If u expect to see a funky, crazy Kensington u used to from London,GB, or Toronto, u might be a bit disappointed. Nevertheless it's a pretty and lovely neighborhood with all its little shops, cafe's, bars and restaurants without all those big brands. Give it a chance and u will discover a welcoming a fun, but different Kensington.
This is a lovely part of Calgary. It has many cafes, boutiques and lots of walking trails. I visited Riley Park and Prince's Island Park. There are places for skateboarding and bicycling. I saw many rollerskaters in PIP. I love the benches everywhere. Safeway and a Frogurt Shop are great to have closeby. People show pride of ownership in their homes. SADE is close for college students. The university is also very close. Kensington is a people friendly area. Pets are well loved here too.
Lots of tiny shops and places to pick up knick-knacks, clothes, snacks and supper. Beautiful buildings and pleasant atmosphere.
We found Kensington to have enough variety to offer both high end and economy in both food and shopping. Not far from downtown and worth the visit. C-Train also goes right by it.
I love Kensington, there are all sorts of really cool shops, restaurants and bars to check out. It's in close proximity to downtown as well so even if on the off chance you don't like Kensington to can find shopping and dining that you'll actually like. But that won't happen because Kensington is awesome.
Within walking distance of downtown it is a funky corner of urban energy with great coffee shops, eateries, shopping, outstanding Indie theater, awesome bookstore and a vibe enhanced by bike and river paths close by. A fun place to hang out. It has attitude and attracts an element who are quite content to resist large scale development - young - hip crowd love Kensington.
Such a pleasant, vibrant and eclectic community! So different than what'd you would expect from Calgary!
Great area to wander by foot and window shop at some unique stores. No chain stores here, and lots of creatives.
Kensington is located just on the northwest side of downtown Calgary and is a wonderful way to spend a leisurely afternoon and/or evening with your sweetheart. The area consists of several blocks with plenty of funky/cool/unique/interesting shops, restaurants and coffee houses. Has a nice artsy feel and look with several building walls painted in interesting murals. There are a few old run-down spots there but those are awaiting demolition and construction of new condo developments. A very nice area to stroll around, eat and browse.
