I have been a season ticket holder for 4 years now, taking in all 5 plays every year. There has been a good variety , from classical to modern, even some musicals ( not my cup of tea) Seems like every year there was duds, and typically end with a good one as the last play.Stage is intimate with no seat more than 200 ft away.On average, I enjoyed my outings and intend to remain a subscriber.
This is our 6th year as season ticket holders. The selection each year of mystery plays continues to surprise. This season opened with the excellent Fairwell, my lovely (by Raymond Chandler). Try one show then consider becoming a subscriber as there is a considerable discount. Also, buy the parking pass for the convenience. We've been planning to go to a theater play for the past couple of years, but always ended up seeing a movie instead. Last night we finally went for it and we enjoyed every minute of it. It was a Shakespeare play, Equivocation. I have so much respect for the highly talented actors and for the energetic organizers. Thank you for a wonderful night!
The theatre itself was very nice and there were a few good actors. I think the storyline was a good idea but I don't think it executed well. I think I'm going to stick with Theatre Calgary and the Pumphouse Theatre.
I am a season ticket subscriber and they are a great source of entertainment if you enjoy a good mystery. Situated in the heart of downtown Calgary, they are easy to get to and a true treasure in the performing arts community in Calgary.
I have seen many plays and an operatical musical, which would rival anything on Broadway or London. If you like live mystery theatre, this is world class
This theater is unfortunately not at the forefront when it comes to theater in Calgary, and it's a shame. Very rarely, VERY rarely do we come away disappointed from a play here. The talent is amazing, The location is terrific, and it is a terrific was of spending an afternoon or evening. This is our second year as season ticket holders, and we'll do it again. Like everything, some stories aren't as good as others but you get that in everything. Definitely worth trying out if you've never been, and especially if you love a good mystery.
great family fare, excellent "who dun its" classic Hitchcock, Ellery Queens etc. easy to park off 10th Ave
So great to have this theatre a part of Calgary's cultural entertainment package. The Vertigo Mystery theatre is exactly that--great thought-provokers.Enviroment is appropriate for these presentations and We feel is located "best"for the general public.Theatre has a great feel to it--nice bar service area and well attended. There is no poor seat in the house and attendace usually suggests bookingwell ahead. This venue is also a must for travel guests and visitors to the city.
We subscribe to Vertigo Theater and have enjoyed live performances for several years. Staging is out of this world, but simple. Actors are professional and do a great job. Directing is always good. Selection of shows has been very rewarding over the years. Worth a visit if you have not seen Vertigo productions before and you enjoy live theater.
