Excellent regional museum with friendly staff and very informative displays. I really enjoyed.
Well worth the trip allow at least a few hours to go through. The displays and signage were excellent. I had with me my husband who does not speak Swedish. And a history buff my sister. I would return again and again.
Mycket intressant och lärorikt, vackra miljöer och en underbart fik som man inte får missa. Kan rekommendera Länsmuseet!
Had a great time at the Kronan exhibition! The story really came to life. The abundance of well preserved archaeological artefacts were very interesting to see! Well worth a visit!
Tittar oftast på Jenny Nyströmutställningen men även tillfälliga utställningar som man kan se utan att betala inträde när man fikar på kafe Kronan
Over 3-4 floors, this museum is on the harbour, close to First Hotel Witt, and costs around £6 to enter. The main exhibits centre on a ship that sunk in the 1600s, and is really excellent for both children and adults. Many of the exhibits are reproductions of spaces on the ship which are very atmospheric. There's lots of information in English and Swedish, and a small gift shop. Well worth a visit.
The Kronan ship wreck exhibit, dive finds and treasure was very good and a nice touch if you have kids is the pirate exhibit.
This is a very nice facility. The museum is located on multiple floors, and each floor is dedicated, for the most part, to a different subject. Of course, the most interesting was the sunken ship that has been studied since the 1970s. It was very interesting to see the videos of the exploration and the "booty' they have recovered.
The exhibition about Kronan was very interesting - really how a modern museum should always be with original articles ("stuff"), reconstructions and film about the finding of the ship. And the café was very cosy.
Great audio-visuals of the recovery of 'yet another wreck!'. Really interesting, real value for money.
