This park is of the biggest parks in the region and has a beautiful natura and several different paths to walk and exercise. The main point of the park is the lateral view of the Caracol cascade. This park worth a visit, plus it has several different stores with local souveniers and snacks. Most park of the park is in declive, so be prepared to that
Very beautiful waterfall, and the whole park has top conservation and touristic structure. Very good tracks, relatively easy walking through and picture everything. The stairs to the base of the waterfall are somewhat tough, the sedentaries can have a hard time and some leg pain for a couple days after the exercise.
The highlight of the park is the waterfall, "Cascata do Caracol". You can view it from a balcony (free), from a tower (buy tickets there), or from underneath if you are adventurous enough to enter the trails that start close to the restaurant (facing the waterfall, go to the right)These rails go down the valley and you find the (small) river after the waterfall. You can go very close to the waterfall. These trails are not well marked, but still easy to follow the path. It may be challenging for some people because you need to be prepared to walk steep slopes and grab on rocks and roots. But overall it is safe. If you are fit, you can use the large wooden path (staircase) to get relatively close to the waterfall. There are hundreds of steps and some places to rest and admire the view.it is nice also to visit the niches close to the river before the waterfall. Facing it, go to the left, following the marked paths between the trees until you can go no more. Excellent views and photo opportunities. I recommend you return back following a different path. It is worth exploring a bit.
The park is nice not only due to the waterfall but cascades few steps further are worth visitibg as sell. The entrance fee is moderate (18 Real pro pers.) but the viestower is too expensive.
The park is fantastic, gorgeous, with a breathtaking view of Caracol waterfalls. You can get very close to the waterfalls as well, which is even more exciting! We took lots of pictures and we had a wonderful time in contact with a truly beautiful and rich nature. We LOVED the park!
This place is fantastic. View is wonderfull and bring you peace. Also romantic to have a short walk. If you are not in a good shape I do not reccomend to step down the stair until the bottom of the falls... Remember you need to come back later on...
This park is truly gorgeous. The waterfall can be seen from two totally different viewpoints: top and bottom. Both with breathtaking vistas !!
The walk down to the falls is not bad - almost 800 steps - but the walk back up requires a bit of lung power. The steps are in the shade and there are a number of places to stop and look as well as catch your breath. The falls are very nice. There is another hike along the river at the top of the falls which is also enjoyable. We had lunch at the restaurant in the park and chose the buffet. There was plenty of meats, vegetables, salad, and desserts to choose from. The service was good and it was relaxing to sit out on the porch and eat. You can't go wrong here.
A must see if you go and visit Canela - to be honest I would say it is the best Canela has to offer especially if you love nature!
I was running here WMOC2014 as well as visited waterfalls. Visit if you are staying enough time in Canela. On the way to caracol some other possibilities to visit, specaily with childrens.
