Day lilies were in bloom in the butterfly garden, which is named after my great uncle--Jack Gregson.
They do not allow dogs...not a good thing they should change the rules. The fields are awesome though.
The park is approx 3.2 km around and is a beautiful place to go for a walk or jog. There are sports fields and a play ground for kids. Along the path are also exercise areas to complete your workout.
Can go for a walk around the park just about any time of the year. It is one of the first places to be cleared of snow in the city. Well maintained.
this park has everything - lots of free parking as well. park is great for walking, running, skateboarding, watching sport games. Best part is along the river - take a bag of mini carrots and find a bench- closest to the boat launch - sit quiet and you will be surprised - they do not bite. They will eat out of your hand
No dogs allowed. All walking paths are level & paved, great gardens, even exercise stations along the east end. Lots of parking, mini golf & golf course that challenges the irons & even the big clubs on a couple holes, also it does not break the bank to play! Many sports fields that accomodate multitudes of soccer teams and ball teams. Great skating & curlilng rinks also.
What a great area. Good parking, nice setting and a nice big hockey arena. There was even webcam in both ice surfaces. Nice look out area and lots of seats in both rinks. There was also a curling rink.
This park is a gem. We often rollerblade around this park or occasionally bike. Our children all played in soccer tournaments here as well as attend sports clinics during the summer. We play in this park all year, walking in the winter and exploring the river bank along the way.
McArthur Island is a gorgeous area to spend some quality time just strolling the pathways, visiting the ducks and squirrels....OH, and the occasional deer too. Excellent cycling here because less- to-almost-no traffic to deal with throughout the park. The xeriscape and butterfly gardens are so beautiful in the summer months but also very interesting in all seasons if one takes the time to enjoy. And there are many geocaches hidden in secret areas, it will keep you busy for awhile.
We didn't have long in kamloops- enroute to the rockies. We checked trip advisor for something to do and this rated well. What a disappointment , there was little to see and do. We played mini gold in a really run down old course ($19 for the family) drove around and left for the next park.
