This experince is once in a lifetime. Well run and organized. very safety oriented. Great gift for a veteran or anyone.
Drive a Tank will provide you with an almost-all-day incredible, unique experience you are not likey to forget. I chose the package which included two tanks and a car crush. The package also includes the opportunity to shoot several high-powered machine guns.Great staff - the firearms expert (Mike, I think) was superb. Very helpful, competent and made sure we had fun. The fellow that gave us a brief history of tanks in the military was also great. He included all the safety instructions we needed to know.Out in the woods, participants get to drive military tanks around a course that includes plenty of ruts, standing water, mud, etc. Passengers can come along for the ride and my guess is it is even more jolting standing atop the back of the tank than for the driver in the tank.It wasn't too difficult to figure out the controls, but you have an instructor sitting right behind you all the time. It was a total blast! And crushing a car was a ton of fun.Total time was about 5 hours, and although there is some waiting between activities, it wasn't a problem. This is a VERY customer-oriented operation, and I did get to play with their 2 black labs during some of the down time. They provide suggestions in advance on what to bring (suntan lotion, hat, mosquito repellent, and some food, although there are drinks and snacks for sale).Definitely recommend this to anyone interested in adventure and trying something very new.
We went not really knowing what to expect and left high fiving and talking about it all the way home. It will be something my son will never forget, that's for sure. Great history lessons in the presentation too. We got to drive/ride along on a tank and shoot automatic weapons. The people were all so nice and very accommodating to us the whole day. They had two dogs that kept you entertained while you had short waits too. That was a plus, if you're a dog lover, like we are.Expect to get a little dusty and dirty...because you will. Even a little muddy too after the tanks go through a sloppy mud hole. But, it's all amazing fun! They are all about safety, safety, safety - so, expect to be grilled on what all the rules are and LISTEN to what they say. It's for you and your guests safety. You will enjoy your time spent at this place. They have souvenirs there too. We highly recommend it to any army, gun and big military toy enthusiasts! It will not disappoint.
My sister and I, both over 50, went and drove tanks and shot machine guns at Drive a Tank and had a blast! Everyone there was helpful, friendly, and gave very good instructions - I only "almost" hit a tree once!!! I really recommend this for all ages, men, women, kids. Just a lot of fun and not something that everyone gets to do.
Three amigos had one 5 star and two 4 star events on a personal male bonding day.We had planned this trip for over a year and were not disappointing.Intro hour became two and full of real history about tanks. The drives themselves were educational as well as fun -- who would have known you steered a tank by pulling two levers! The shooting gallery also dynamite.Made us realize how artificial most movies are in the sound of large guns firing. We are now planning a return trip with spouses
Once in a lifetime experience! If you get a chance to get/do this, YOU MUST! Do it all! We had a blast (no pun intended)!!!!!!
I went with my two brothers and we had a great time. Driving the vehicles was fun and challenging. The staff there was safety conscious but also realized you were there to have fun. We also really enjoyed the gun range after driving the vehicles. Im very glad we went and did this
Great experience. Very professionally run, the owner is extremely knowledgeable. Lots of info , very interesting.
SO. MUCH. FUN! I bought the "Three Star Lt. General" for Drive a Tank as a Father's Day present for my husband, and went along as his "passenger." It was a ball! I learned so much on the history of tanks. Everyone there was happy to answer questions. (Joe, the former long-time mayor of Kasota was wonderful!) There was one woman who did the Drive-Over-A-Car and that was SUPER cool! (My husband and I were happy to get to watch it firsthand!) Drive A Tank also provided lots of time to take photos, and even had mounts on the tank for Go-Pros. (My husband brought his and has his "drive" on video on Facebook.) I would totally recommend it to anyone--young or old, male or female! No need to feel nervous about driving--a staff person is right there assisting you. One note--There are no fast food places in Kasota, so be sure to bring a picnic lunch and cold drinks. (Drive a Tank does sell cold drinks and bagged snacks.) There is a wonderful park on the edge of town with sheltered picnic tables--the perfect place to eat. Drive A Tank lets people know this in their information letter, and my husband and I were glad I packed up a lunch.
First and foremost-the staff is the best! They are fun, professional and really make your day fantastic! I flew to partake in this 'bucket list item' and it was well worth the trip. I went with a friend and we did the 3-star general package. Loads of fun! What is stopping this from receiving a 5 star rating is that for the $399 per person, I would like to have had a bit longer driving experience. It was a blast (no reason at all not to go) but way to short. We also had the opportunity to shoot a machine gun-I would have liked to have 2 times-the first time the gun jammed and you are 'getting a feel' for the experience and the 2nd clip would have really got the experience to 5 stars. I have no doubt their costs are extreme to put together this adventure for us all together-just would have been fantastic to have more than a 5-8 minute tank driving experience. Fantastic folks-thanks for a great day!
