Attractive grounds and gardens even in November. We haven't been inside the castle itself but the Courtyard restaurant is must and the delicatessen and shop has something for everyone.
The cake and scone were over priced. Also both of them were days old, by far the worse chocolate cake I have ever had (dry and stail). I wont be back anytime soon, and would struggle to recomend. Very poor.
We just came here for lunch, I honestly wasn't expecting much but had to check my low attitude at the door! Venison sausages with colcannon mash and red cabbage - huge portion (which suits me perfectly) but certainly meant there was no space for pudding on that occasion. Smiling friendly staff made it a very happy lunch.
In spite of being part of the duke's state, there is no airs and graces about this wee restaurant. The food is nice and fresh and unpretentious. The service is nice and efficient. The atmosphere is that of a nursing home, full of very old posh hoity toity mummified characters but it is always a safe bet.
A lovely setting by the river Tweed with huge grounds and gardens. Although late in the year for our visit we still enjoyed our short visit. The tea rooms provided a useful fill up and the shop did well from the cakes we took home for family and friends.
First stop the the terrace tea room for lunch or snacks than buying cakes and precooked mealsfor my freezer grand choice.then onto the garden centre. At the end of May THE FLOORS HORSE TRIALS. A well attended 3 day event and the open day in Aug pipe bands falconry dog displays plenty to do and see visit the house and the grounds on a quiet day a treat to see lovely walks long or short take your time it will be there next time you visit .
We are locals and I am ashamed to say I have never reviewed Floors before! We go for a coffee at least once a week and I always have a piece of their carrot cake. I could never have it anywhere else now! The coffee is really good. Staff are friendly. In the summer you can sit outside which is stunning. It is next to the garden centre so after coffee you can have a walk around part of the gardens without having to pay to go in. although it is free for locals. There is a fantastic play park for children with seats for adults. In the winter we have our coffee and then go for a lovely walk also in the summer we take our dog, She sits under the table outside and would stay there all day if we let her. In the coffee shop they sell lots of food made at the castle.
Nothing to dislike. great!! Beautiful House and the grounds are stunning. Lovely Cafe and a garden centre too.
My vegetable and cashew curry with wild rice, poppadom and cucumber yoghurt was delicious. My mum had a teaplate sized teacake with real butter. Bread baked in a flower pot was quirky fun! A pot of tea with enough tea for more than two cups each. Everything clean, nicely presented and very nice friendly service.
everything is good, food etc, coffee shop cakes, parking, bread nice in summer when you can sit outside..........a bit noisy in winter, but good
