Nestled away on a back country road you will find a beautiful vineyard and winery in Kilmarnock, Virginia. While this is a fairly young winery, they have managed to bottle some pretty tasty fare. They also have lots of space for parties, inside and out. Well worth the visit.
This winery has many tasting options. You can do just whites, or red, or both or a combination of the two. Its a young winery so their wines have not seasoned yet but worth visiting. The tasting room is beautiful and there is a porch outside where you can sit, relax and enjoy your favorite bottle.
Very nice tasting room, which is new from a couple of years ago. Lots of wood, and reminds you of a ranch when you walk in off the porch. People were nice and the wines tasted pretty good.
My husband and I recently stopped by Good Luck Cellars in Kilmarnock and were pleasantly surprised by the knowledge, friendliness and lovely facility. Kate was wonderful and we enjoyed meeting her and learning about each of the 7 wines she presented. Enjoyed the piano music provided by Paul. We ended up buying the The 4 blondes and a petit verdot. Looking forward to many more visit to Good Luck Cellars as we recently purchased a home near Kilmarnock. If you are coming to the Northern Neck and to Kilmarnock make sure and check out Good Luck Cellars, a growing winery with a nice selection of wines. Loved meeting the owners Kate and Paul Krop.
Have gone back to the Good Luck Cellars twice and both times were very pleased . Once it was Larry and the last time the owners who told us about the wines we were tasting. Very knowledgeable and proud of their Winery. We just tested the Red's and end up buying bottles on both visits. We tour the facilities. Petted the retired hunting dogs and watched birds feed in their ponds. Enjoyable time to sit and relax on the deck and have some wine. Highly recommend going.
We had a most enjoyable wine tasting at Good Luck Cellars on a beautiful fall afternoon. As an added bonus, the winemaker plays piano from time to time to relax! Very friendly and informative staff, nice wines and olive oils, too!
Nice tasting room good selection of wines at reasonable prices. You can do 12 wines or just 6 of either white or red.Wine is good and reasonably priced.
We took a picnic lunch to Good Luck Cellars and really liked their wines and the lovely place. They planted the grapes and make their wines there so there is love involved and it shows. We had a glass of wine with lunch and brought home 3 bottles. We will definitely go back to Good Luck Cellars .
Serendipity lead us to Good Luck Cellars while meandering in the Northern Neck last weekend. We had to wait to do a tasting because of the crowd, but enjoyed the time wandering the grounds. The owners were pouring, so we asked a few questions. They planted in 2005 and originally began by selling the grapes. They began bottling a few years ago and built the lovely building that houses the tasting room and a large room (venue). The delightful wrap-around porch with huge outdoor fireplace and tables is a perfect place for a picnic or to sip a bottle. Sadly, two of their award-winning wines were sold out. The pours are generous, so my husband and I shared a tasting at the suggestion of the owner. We tasted both the whites and reds. We purchased a few bottles of their Chardonel. Look forward to a return trip to see how their grapes mature...
My husband and I visited Good Luck Cellars during a day trip to the northern neck to explore the trail. We were immediately greeted by the owner, Katie, who was friendly and informative. We enjoyed a calm, relaxed tasting and the great conversation that we had with her. We loved hearing her story of how the vineyard came to be. We tasted both the reds and whites, and we fell in love with their wines. The Sweet Shamrock Red is our hands-down favorite, but we also loved the chardonnay. The addition of a bit of piano playing from Paul was a pleasant treat too! We were encouraged to spend more time there when our tasting was complete, and took them up on the offer. The outside of this winery does not prepare you for the beauty that you will experience on the inside. Not only is the tasting room gorgeous, there is also a room that overlooks the production area, with three walls of windows that allow you to look down on their production process. With tasty wine, friendly owners, and a property that is gorgeous, we'll visit Good Luck again and again.
