Kos castle was 10 minutes from hotel entrance fee 3 € .The Castle is huge and it will take you half a day to explore, the castle has lots of history and stunning views well worth a visit toilets on site.
the castle was impressive the staff were friendly and helpful the grounds were very clean the history of this castle is amazing and i felt that i had shared in some of its history the carvings on the stones are well presurved to be able to see turkey so close was nice and the harbour with all the different boats was a lovely sight and Kos town was quite busy as the boats were loading people for their trips we had found various digs in which you could walk around the whole place was full of history and overall a lovely place to visit
Kos Town castle is absolutely wonderful - the views from the walls across the sea or towards the harbour are absolutely amazing - wear good walking shoes!
Kos Town has many shops, a good place to visit. with a port so you can go for a day trip to Turkey if you wish.
We went for a day trip in Kos in June. We found the place nice with lots of shops and restaurants but we weren't impressed with the beach. It wasn't sandy and golden.
Lovely to see different cultures the way of life, Saw Hippocrates Tree and so many lovely cats, actually rescued one and brought him home, loved the Markets with the amazing spices, my cooking a lot more adventurous now. The Harbour is beautiful, could sit on a seat and watch harbour for hours.
Kos castle is an odd place. Kos has more artifacts than any other Greek island. So we were told. Trouble is most of them have been consolidated there by many of the invaders and settlers. First the Knights of the crusades and then pretty much everyone else. If you have a great tour guide the place comes alive. But I would not recommend for very small children as there are sheer drops and no barriers. Worth visiting.
kos castle is a truly amazing place to visit it will take you a few hours to walk around and see the history unfold a must visit whilst in kos
A lovely few hours spent walking around - looking at archaelogical remains, some standing and quite a few built into the castle walls and buildings, from classic greek to crusaders. Get up to the ramparts and you get lovely pictures overlooking Kos harbour one way and the marina the other.
Great holidays worth, mentioning I want to go back there as soon as possible, castle was beautiful and admission was very cheap, definitely a must see on this beautiful Greek island.
