If you stay at a rental unit here, keep in mind the property is 20 years old and alot of the condos have not been upgraded. If you decide to rent something request a more recently remodeled condo such as D1. They know which units are more updated and if you are looking for nice you need to request that. The location cant be beat though. XC skiing right out the back/front door and miles of trails that connect over to Lake Wenatchee State Park. Fish Lake is less than 5 mi away and they have skating on the lake with free skate rentals. Beautiful area and less than 2 hrs from the Seattle area. Leavenworth is only a 20 min drive further. The condo units are in great condition with not alot of wear/tear considering their age but like I said, you need to request a more recently remodeled unit if you want Foo-Foo accommodation. Also, you need to check if the units have cable/internet reception as each unit is individually owned and not everyone subscribes to those services. This is truly a place based on LOCATION, LOCATION.
From start to finish the experience was so bad that I've told my friends that I've not played a worse golf course in at least 15 years and I've played a lot of golf.We arrived at 8am with the front doors still being locked. There was only one person there the entire time and it was a Saturday. When I went to check in and pay she proceeded to tell me that they lost 3 greens during winter and they still charged us full price. The driving range was terrible as well. The greens were like sponges I was leaving foot indentions on the putting surfaces. The tee boxes were not level. The mosquitos were terrible and they didn't bother to give us a heads up about that. And the layout of the course was very confusing with the temporary greens etc. There were groups driving all over the place trying to find the next tee box. What they need to do is shut the golf course down and do something else. It is apparent they don't have the money to properly care for the golf course and charge people a decent rate. I ended up paying $75 for a full round and 9 holes. I should have only been charged half of that.
I am happy to play this course especially during the week when it is practically empty. It is a well kept course without being overly manicured. I even have a few favorite spots that always turn up lots of golf balls so I can hit with abandon over and over again.
way overpriced. be carefull with renting any condo units here. we paid 250.00 per night and the condo we got was so cheaply furnished, you could tell it was condo rental only. the tv was 16" cheap emerson 10 years old, the stereo which didnt have any reception was a joke, both beds were so bad we ended up sleeping on the floor. the location and setting is really nice but be aware of condo conditions. for the price we could have stayed at a nicely furnished cabin in the area and if it wasnt for last minute notice of going here, we would have.
Based on some of the other reviews I had extremely low expectations of my experience here. However, with a smoking deal thru Golf Now we gave it a try. Wow what a surprise! Extremely scenic, somewhat challenging, well maintained golf course. Although restaurant facility is empty (pending permitting?) the pro shop was staffed and lady was very nice. My only knock would be - it would be nice if they had some distance guidance as far as (how far to water off tee of 9, how far to end of fairway on 14 and 18,etc.) Glad some of the others that didn't like it weren't around the day we played as pace of play was great. We enjoyed the experience so much we came back the next day and played again!
We organized a few groups to play the day before our commitment ceremony and had a total blast! The staff in the pro shop were very friendly and super helpful. The course is challenging, but not too much so it was really fun and made it a memorable and special day for us and our friends who played. It's also nice that they aren't so stuffy and more casual which made it extremely pleasant. It's super reasonable and I would highly recommend paying a visit if your in the area. Was definitely worth it and a beautiful setting too!!
This a fun and challenging golf course. The greens are in excellent condition. The 600 yard hole 9 with 2 dog legs would challenge the best golfers. There are two par threes over 180 yards that are great. I play here several times a season.
Yes, we do own a condo on the golf course at Kahler Glen but we do not receive any deal with the resort since they are seperate entities. The golf course is a challenge and the sking is great. Overall the place is run but it would be great if the restaurant was open the entire year instead of just during the Summer.
We loved the secluded location and yet how close it was to seattle and bellevue, not to mention the wine tasting shops and shopping in leavenworth, wa. we were there in February 2007
It's a beautiful place but everything is closed. No restaurant to go to - Closed. No customer service to talk to when you have a problem - day off. It's hard to find the accommodations since no one is there to assist you in any way.
