Beautiful. Serene. But vandals have tagged it & broken necessary iron railings. Needs tlc to be excellent once again.
We walked through the park in the snow, it was beautiful and a great place for family or kids pictures.
We walked the island and were pleased by the beautiful, snowy surroundings. It was nice that there were signs explaining the origins of the island. We also were able to read the signs regarding the plants and trees. It was a good walk!
Met lots of dog owners who were friendly and also enjoying the outdoors. A great city walk to breath fresh air.
Located on the river in Leavenworth, very close to downtown, this is a chance to do something less touristy than visiting the many (neat) shops. We particularly enjoyed Blackbird Island.
If you happen to be in Leavenworth Washington don't miss the waterfront Park! bring your camera its absolute beautiful
next to the river, great trails, lots of water fowl, very pretty in the snow close to town, great place to walk the dog
We spent a bit of time each day we were here in January a couple years ago with our dog walking the trails of waterfront park. Easy access near our hotel (Obertal Inn) and a nice walk, even with snow and ice. It was neat to see the cross country skiiers using the park so much also. If you want to walk along the park and then head up to the main street in town and walk back to your hotel it is very easy and convenient to do so.
View, but spring thaw was here with mud and mush on the trail to river. Friends loved my photos of the peak overlooking the river with afternoon sun on flowing water. Worth trip penguin walking over some icy patches and mud to get to bit of beach
I had been to Leavenworth many times before and never explored the waterfront park. It was a great way to step away from the crowds shopping during the days of tree lighting weekends. Well marked and beautiful snowy views.
