My husband and I reserved a 3-hr. tubing trib with Adirondack Tubing Adventures for our Anniversary. It was one of the most pleasant afternoons we ever had. The Guides were professional, knowledgeable, always put our safety first and had a great sense of humor. The river was crystal clear and easy to navigate. We plan to bring our famly with us next year. Highly recommend this Tubing Company.
Booked a tubing trip through Groupon. We have never been on one. We had the most wonderful time. We had the early reservation 10 a.m., very serene and beautiful. Our tour guide, Josh, was very helpful (my younger daughter was having problems keeping up), gave us a lot of facts of the area and brought us to 2 very nice swimming spots. Looking to going again.
Ryan was our guide and he was awesome. Trip wasn't too long or short. Would do it again. No need to pack anything but a bathing suit.
This is the third time that we've tubed with Adk Tubing Adventures and we love them! This year the tubing route is longer which is a nice change. It used to seem like you just got in the water and had to get out…no more! We also rented a cooler float which easily holds a large cooler…I highly recommend this. The scenery is amazing and it is such a peaceful way to spend part of your day…yeah, the ride to where you launch is a bit bumpy, but it's worth every bump. Our guides were amazing…especially Isabelle…and everyone in our group of 7 enjoyed the adventure. We'll be back next year for sure. : )
The tubing part of it was nice enough, and guides were pleasant and competent. The ride in was bumpy and a bit longer than advertised, but all part of the experience I guess. However, that building housing the business is seriously need of some attention. We arrived with a few in our party needing to use the washrooms, and both bathrooms were filthy and smelled terrible. The light was burned out in the men's room, but rather than fixing it, staff suggested we hold the door partly ajar to admit some of the light from the adjoining room or use the women's.The two "change rooms" were small rooms off a dark corridor which also seemed to serve as a utility closet. Both were strangely furnished with two vinyl covered chairs from a 1960s conference room, and neither had a light fixture (though there were electrical conduits on walls in both). They were (barely) lit by dim light coming through windows covered with some kind of fabric pinned to the frame. Falling ceiling tiles, peeling paint, and a delaminated floor completed the picture. It wouldn't take much to clean/fix up the building a bit, and that would have made our experience much better.
Went on the lazy river trip about two weeks ago. There were 9 in our group - two families with kids ranging in age from 11 to 16. We were able to tether our tubes so we could float together down the river. The guides were great and everyone had a lot of fun as we floated down the river. We would definitely go again!
We have tubed on the Hudson before but really enjoyed the extended trip ATA offered. Our group of 12 - ages 5 - 62- all enjoyed our experience. Guides were great, water clean, trip on the school bus to launch site is minimal. Cooler rental for $10 recommended. Grab drinks and snacks at Harris' corner store across the street from ATA & you are ready for a fabulous day...rain or shine on the picturesque Hudson River. We will definitely be back next year!
Great experience floating down the river. The water was so clean and refreshing on a hot summer day. We rented the basic yellow tubes and they were fine for us. Not sure the blue tubes with the backs are any better. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable about the river and history. One group rented a cooler tube and brought their drinks and lunch with them and ate and drank as they floated down the river. I will definitely do this next time. What a cool way o eat lunch!
What do you do when you have to entertain 6 kids in the summer? You take them to ATA!! Although I wished the weather and water to be warmer, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Kids ages ranged from 9-13 and everyone had a great time. Staff super helpful and friendly. Our guide Josh was experienced, knowledgeable about the area and was gracious in helping my group when we needed it. The water was clean, tubes were in good shape (I brought my own life vests, which have to be rated as a type 3 floatation device), and bus was sturdy! This is our second visit to ATA and it won't be our last! Thanks!!Lisa M.
Hi Debbie, I am very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience with us this year. I'd like to respond to some of your complaints and hope that it provides you with some sort of explanation. As a company, we have a 24 hour cancellation policy that we have in effect for several reasons. The main reason is so that we do not have to turn away customers who want to partake on our tubing trips. This policy is listed on your Groupon voucher. While we do appreciate you calling the morning of your trip to let us know that half of your group would not be coming, by that time it was to late and we had already had to turn away a number of customers because of the short notice. This is especially true because your trip was on a Saturday and on a Holiday Weekend. I'd also like to address why we did not make our normal stop at the beach on the day of your trip, as well as why the guides asked you to do more paddling that normal. Unfortunately on that day we experienced an incredible amount of wind which was blowing directly from the South and up the river at 20-30 mph. This not only slows the tubes down tremendously but also blows them in all different directions and causes the trip to last much longer than normal. In order to keep our trip in the advertised 2.5-3 hour time frame, the guides made the decision not to stop and to float straight through. I do apologize that your guide did not do a better job in explaining to you why you needed to paddle in a more proper manner and I hope you come and visit us again next year.
