We visited the Commonweal for our first time this weekend. We had no expectations, as we hadn't visited prior to this trip. The theater is clean, and decorated with a lot of interesting stuff. They have many items hanging from the ceiling. The children loved exploring the lobby area discovering all the different little hidden stuff. It was very interesting just to look around the theater lobby. The show was a christmas special, put on by three actors. We were so very glad we had booked the show once it started. The show was well performed. I was very surprised by the quality of the performance. It was on par with performances that cost up to $100/person. This show costs us $30/adult and $15/student. It was an outstanding value. We will be returning, with plans to purchase their season pass which is an even better value!
It was a fantastic show. I've been going to Minneapolis shows for years and hadn't been to such a small theatre - but wow did it impress. I fully recommend seeing a show when you're in Lanesboro.
We had the opportunity to visit the Commonweal for their Christmas Show this year. It was performed by three actors, who did a tremendous job! The evening was very enjoyable, and we will definitely be back!
Very creative and professional troupe. Very versatile facility with a wide array of offerings. The productions are well done and always entertaining.
I really enjoyed their production of Arsenic and Old Lace. Not being an experienced theatre goer, I really didn't know what to expect but it was a fun experience. I'll do this again!
We saw "Around the World in 80 Days". This was our first time at the Commonweal and I hope to be a season ticket holder after seeing this performance. We live two hours away but this was definitely worth the trip. The acting was amazing and the fun fact was that there were five actors playing 34 different characters! The audience jumped out of their seats to give these performers a standing ovation. I am a season ticket holder for various shows in the St Paul - Mpls area and I was very pleased with this Commonweal Theater.
We came to see "Around The World In 80 Days" it adventurous and funny. Love it! Have to see yourself!*******************************
We saw a preview production of a play at Commonweal. What a wonderful theater! They did a great job and we will definitely be back!
