Four of us spent terrific afternoon and evening with Ismael--first snorkeling on two reefs and then swimming in the bioluminescent bay. Ismael was so gracious and informative about the ecology of the water, the constellations, and Puerto Rican culture and economy. Gave us all the time that we wanted, no rush. And so different than the experience we would had have had on a bigger boat with more people. A very good value. Heartily recommend Aleli Tours!
Ismael and Elisabeth where awesome ! We enjoyed our trip to The Laguna Bio !!!! Great expirence!!! Ismael un saludo !!!
Aleli Tours is awesome! Excellent customer service and a great boat tour through the mangroves with adequate stopping time for snorkeling, swimming and birdwatching. Ismael took great care of my elderly mother too to make sure she got in/out safe and had a great time. Highly recommend if you want to tour the waters of La Parguera.
Weather was super windy and we wanted to paddle board so he recommended we paddle downstream then he would pick us up via boat. Cost $20 extra but was worth every penny. He even dropped us at the dock of our next snorkel tour. Recommend 100%! Good people!!!
Ismael was genuinely knowledgable and enthusiastic. We rented kayaks for a late afternoon self-guided tour of the mangrove tunnels and islands. Then we did an evening trip to the bio-luminescent bay, which was awesome. Easy, friendly, a bargain.
Our trip to bio bay has been the highlight of Puerto Rico trip. And I feel extremely lucky we ran into this guiding service. There are so many ways to do this wrong - to get piled up on a party boat, to be driven by a smelly loud motor monster and board your kayak for 15 minutes only... We kayaked for 40 minutes along the shore leaving the lights and buzz of the village behind - perfect pretext for what we were about to see. Entering the bay, its quiet waters coming alive with a touch of our paddles, than swiming in warm water, lights from within, little stars sparkling on your skin... Our 9-year old daughter was afraid to go in the water at first, but we could not pull her out later. Regarding negative review left here: if you think kayaking in the dark in open water is scary - don't go. Honestly, don't ruin the day for yourself and everyone else. Take a motor boat, leave adventure for people willing to have one. Ismael is a great guide, very carrying and supportive. We could get help any minute if we would need it.
We took the boat trip to the bio bay to swim on the bioluminescent tour. It was really a great time. The owner is friendly, knowledgeable and let us swim as long as we wanted (and patiently dealt with our 3 kids). Would definitely recommend! Just try to avoid when there's a full moon..II hear the glow isn't as noticeable.
I've had quite a number of tours at different venues, but Aleli did the best job i've had in years. Very knowledgeable, and customer service was exemplary. I highly recommend them.
Ismael was taking a group in his boat the night we went on the tour, so we took a kayak and left on our own. He was very good about giving us directions and kayaking to the Bio Bay was much more rewarding than sitting in a boat. Plus, we could paddle anywhere we liked, and didn't feel bad about contributing to the pollution that I'm told is harming the bay.He checked on us via light signalling while we were in the bay, and offered us water, dry bags (and jars), etc. If you can't make it to one of the other bio bays, then I'd suggest doing it in Parguera, and going with Ismael. We heard from several locals that he was the best one to go with.
Although the idea of kayaking at night, at times in pretty dark areas, seemed a little unnerving the experience was fantastic! Do bring an open mind, cardio endurance for the kayaking on sometimes choppy water and an appreciation for the absolute beauty and marvel of nature! Ishmael is bilingual, not in any rush to hurry your experience, patient with all questions and demonstrative of his love and passion for his bay and all the eco systems in and around it. Not your ordinary commercialized tour. Worth the time for sure! We are now thinking of doing another tour (snorkeling perhaps) with him before we leave OR.Thanks Ishmael!
