Did my check out dives in La Parguera with Paradise Scuba and it was PHENOMENAL!!! The staff was all excellent, the boat was great and now I'm a diver! I did my closed water at home in SC and we called around to find a PADI location to check me out during our week long stay. We got out our first and second day here with ease and the price was stellar! Cachi was my instructor and was so patient and knowledgable and kind, I felt truly comfortable and had an amazing first scuba experience! Thank you guys!!!
We went last night. We ordered vegetable empanadas. Great they were able to adjust, but it was filled with frozen vegetables--- (as there seem to be no fresh veggies we can find). Everyone was kind and informative. The boat was nice and felt safe. The crew was excellent. We got to the bay and got in the water. The bioluminescence was very cool-- but I thought it would be more pronounced. Within 15-20 minutes of getting in 3 people got stung by jelly fish. No one had said anything about Jellyfish.. so we were surprised. On the boat they had vinegar to put on the stings which seemed to help. No one got back in--- the swim time was cut short and no mention or information about the jelly fish was given. We would've gone back in. We would have liked to stay longer and would have liked to know about the possible Jellyfish beforehand. It was a nice boat ride--- not sure I would do it again in La Pageura-- the other bays are brighter/ but no swimming allowed.
We went on the snorkeling and Bio Bay tour and it was amazing. Lunch was wonderful. The staff... I cannot say enough about. They ALL were so very friendly and helpful. This tour is excellent and a must do. The sights are amazing. We will definitely come back on our next trip. This was one of the highlights of our trip.
We took a snorkeling trip with Paradise in March, loved it so much we went back on Sunday. Knowledgeable, courteous and gregarious crew. Our snorkeling guides, Jonathan and Christian were excellent! We have gone out with Paradise on several previous, pre-tripadvisor trips. Same quality of service. This was relaxing and informative. They treat their clients as very special guests on the boat, even served sandwiches and fruit in between dives. See the best Puerto Rico has to offer, get to La Parguera which is a gem and see the coral reef and spectacular fish with Paradise Scuba!
At first we were scared of the phonies...but we went with paradise scuba and the did an awesome job...very patience with us first timers. Got to see a lot of different fish on the tour. They also fed us and provided drinks. Making the tour very compelling. Will recommend to friends and families.
Swimming in the Biobay was one of the most magical experiences I have ever had! The tour guide was funny and knowledgable. We also felt like we were being treated as family as they didn't limit us to one drink and one empanada, they encouraged us to have as much as we wanted. I highly recommend this tour group and swimming in the Biobay. It was the best part of my entire trip to PR!
First I will say beware of the phonies! Some guys may approach you selling you $8 for a boat ride to the luminescent bay. Theyre not the same as if you went to the store and asked there. We wanted to go to a bio bay that wasn't out of the way since some of them required going on a boat that was timed. This was perfect because they gave you different options in price and experience. And even though we got to the store 10 mins late, they held up the boat for us. The ride was very smooth and we could have as many drinks as we wanted. The 2 empanadas were really good too. We were in the water for good amount of time and let me tell you, it was beautiful! We went at the perfect time; no moon and a clear starry night so the water reflected the sky almost. The people running the boat were kind and very knowledgeable about the area and the luminescence. Overall, worth the money and time.
First of all, Paradise Scuba and Snorkeling waited for me to arrive. They held up the boat from departing until I got there - about 10 minutes. I was driving down from the Rincon area and thought I was taking a short route, but it brought me through the mountains which took a lot longer than anticipated. As I was driving, I kept calling them to let them know how far out I was. I am so happy they waited as I would have missed this great experience otherwise. For that reason alone I can recommend them.Next was the actual event. There were 25 people on a 50 foot boat. Leaving the harbor around dusk, we were served chicken empanadas en route to the bay. The ride was about 20 minutes. Once we arrived in the bay, all the lights were turned out and the captain spoke about the bio bay phenomenon and how it works etc...We were then all handed a snorkel and mask and told to jump in. They allowed us to stay in the water anywhere from 30 - 45 minutes before we headed back. If you are in the Lajas area in the Southwest part of Puerto Rico, I highly recommend this experience, and doing it with Paradise Scuba and Snorkeling! Thanks for waiting guys!Out of all the bio bays that exist (7 I think), 3 of them are in Puerto Rico. I am told that the one on Vieques Island is the best (brightest). This is off the North East coast of Puerto Rico. The catch here is that you either have to fly or take a ferry to the island, and then spend the night because there is no way to get off the island after the bio bay tour... until the next day.
My husband and I went for the combo afternoon snorkel and night Biobay tour- it was wonderful! The guys are really laid back, friendly and helpful as soon as you walk in the dive shop. They provided my husband and I with the appropriate sizes without even having to ask our shoe size. The afternoon snorkel was great- they helped with our masks and found plenty of sea creatures while we were in the water that we could hold, multiple starfish, conchs, and sea urchins. We saw a lot of beautiful fish at the reef. The second location was in the mangroves- the guides were awesome at finding interesting sea life. I really liked the mangroves. Then we had a few beers on the way back, always a plus, and then enjoyed homemade empanadas while we waited for the Biobay trip.My husband had been dying to go to a Biobay but the timing of our trip meant a very bright moon each night- we were worried that we wouldnt be able to see anything but the captain assured us it wouldn't be a problem and he was right! Seeing them all light up as you move underwater is amazing.I hear the other bays are brighter but this was just fine for us!It was all wonderful- definitely spend your evening and afternoon with them- very worth it!
Besides the fact that the experience was amazing , the crew made it unforgettable! We did the 4 hour excursion, which consisted of snorkeling and the bio bay. In the middle we had a break And they brought us chicken empanadas. The whole time the crew distributed beer and drinks. When you go with them, you have nothing to worry about! Go! Enjoy it
