My husband and I stopped in for a beer. He bought a Stout and I selected a Cider. We asked for an additional glass and combined the two. It was fabulous. They also offer a "sampler" of 5 or 10 of their draft beers. Sounded like fun, but we decided to move on because our time in Iceland was very limited.
Although there is a really good selection of beer here and at reasonable prices for Reykjavik, it is a bit soulless. The bar is at the back of a contemporary downtown budget hotel so it really does not have the atmosphere of a pub or even a bar. Still worth a visit to sample the beer though and maybe meet some likeminded real ale lovers.
Great for the beer enthusiast!! We did the 10 beer flight and got a great taste of a variety of different styles. A flight at Micro Bar is not like most, instead of a small tasting you have a half glass of each. Great atmosphere, conversations spill from table to table. Highly recommended!!
If you really like beer this is the place to go. When we were there it was full of young Americans writing notes as they sampled the various beers. Not a lot of atmosphere and quite difficult to find behind the reception of a modern city hotel.
Definitely the best beer in Reykjavik.Big choice of beers..Very,very friendly service :) If you want to try more kinds of beer I suggest you go to the Micro Bar :)
Great selection of beers knowledgable and helpful staff. Could have stayed all night, but would have had a sore head! We loved the micro beer.
This place is a gem in Reykjavik. You won't see Viking or Gull but some authentic craft beers made in different regions of Iceland. The IPA had a perfect balance of hops and sweet flavor.
Happy hour prices vary wildly from night to night. Our first night there the happy hour beer was 700 ISK and on our last night (tonight) with a different barman the happy hour beer was 1000 ISK!
Got a Lava beer which was delicious. We couldn't find it again in any liquor store, so stop in and try one here. Very knowledgeable and patient staff, but high prices typical for the city.
This was top on the list for my other half when we visited Reykjavik and luckily it lived up to expectations. A huge selection of beers are available, 10 on tap and then loads of specialist bottles & cans. This place also offers a nice range of crisps and nuts to accompany your drinking. Great atmosphere and the barman was knowledgeable and friendly.
