What a unique experience this is. An enjoyable walk about 1600m up in the pine forest, in the summer or in the autumn (snow if you are lucky). Watch and approach healthy animals in near-as-you-can-get natural environment (only an occasional and generally discreet protective fence). Easy to read and well illustrated comprehensive information panels.Very reasonable entry fee, almost want to give them more it's so well kept and such a pleasant experience. We have been there twice in ten years. Only regret is that we live 7000km away so we can't go every weekend!
Very good visit, Excellent interpretation for english speakers. Didn't see the wolves though. But it was the middle of the day and very hot.Would suggest visiting earlier in the day before the heat, makes everything sleepy. Our daughter loved the Fallow deer, (very vocal and friendly).
Took our two grandchildren here.A great time had by all. Luckily we saw all the animals. Plenty of picnic tables and other seats around.
This is a great place to visit for families, couples or singles! Children love it.The animals are those that are found in the Pyrenees or used to be found there. They are in large enclosures with lots of space to roam. The path through the park takes you through many of these enclosures; but, fortunately, not the wolves or the brown bears! There are two way-marked routes; one long about two and a half hours allowing for photos (many!) along the way and a much shorter route that we have never taken. Some of the animals are very impressive; others very cute! The paths go up and down hill and good footwear is a must as there are tree roots, rocks etc in the paths. We have taken quite a few friends here and they have all enjoyed it very much.
We went here in the middle of winter, but still saw lots of animals - there were hardly any people at all. It's a good few hours' walk so great exercise for older kids, but for small children I would recommend bringing snacks and taking rests.
