This place is amazing! you will love to just wonder around and look up and see the old good mines! this is a really fun place!
Still probably the nicest casino in RENO ... But slots are tight, the Super Bowl party announcer really stunk, was drunk and obnoxious - and his voice was enough like listening to nails on a chalk board! Rooms tv service has issued with the "new cable system" couldn't get pay movies - and was charged $14 for Internet service that didn't connect - then routed overseas to try toke a connection! Have been coming her for 20 years for Super Bowl - think it's time for a "change"....
We've gone here for years. The ambiance is fine - not super elegant like the Bellagio in Las Vegas, but definitely "up there" and quite nice. I'd say it's one of the top four casinos in Reno. There are many good restaurants - the steak place is excellent and the buffet is very good, has a lot of selections, is cheerful, has decent service, and is quite reasonable with 2-for-1 Thursday prices for locals (you need a player's card and a local area driver's license). The comedy place downstairs has good comedians and the auditorium features big names frequently. You have to remember that this is a CASINO - there's going to be lots of second hand smoke, your clothes will stink, there's the din of slot machines beeping and clinking, and you'll see a lot of compulsive people playing a game to "win it big" when the odds are rigged about 94% against them. Other than that, it's a good casino. While Nevada adopted "No Smoking" in public buildings, its legislature (very much controlled by and probably highly funded by the so-called "gaming" industry) rejected a ban on smoking inside casinos. The good news is, casino restaurants are No Smoking areas... soooo, if you can make it through the fog of the casino to the restaurant, it's not so bad.I recommend Silver Legacy as a good place for dining and entertainment. Being a "smart local" who knows that - over the long run - you'll ALWAYS lose at the tables, I don't gamble... thus, I can't say anything about the casino itself (other than most of them have odds of about 94% AGAINST you!).
Wen compared to the ElDorado (conjoined twin facility) the comparison is like night and day. El Dorado first, Silver Legacy a distant second and Circus-Circus next door wayyyy down there.
I found all staff working in the casino to be very helpful and I never had to wait for a cocktail. There were plenty of servers, and It didn't mater what beverage I ordered, (coffee, water, soda or a cocktail. ) My order was brought to me promptly. The staff working the card member services were more than heplful and always had a smile on there face.
Had fun on the machines.decent payouts and good comps. The weekdays are much quieter if you prefer, as for my husband and I we like live music in the background, so we like it better on the weekends. Save your comps for fabulous Sunday brunch at sterlings. Champagne and great food makes for a wonderful afternoon.
Nice casino. Fun to play and staff friendly. They have lots of opportunities to win free slot money, contests. We won a free buffet soon after signing up with their casino card. Just check to see what nights they have a buffet....it's not seven days a week. They do however offer an alternative place to eat if the buffet is closed. Atmosphere is welcoming and very clean. We spent most of our time at this casino when we were in Reno.
The steakhouse had one of the most tender filets I have ever had. That and the Spectra show was beyond awesome.
This casino is next to the circus circus so don't get confuse because they seem to be connected, over all is a good casino and hope you do make money if you end up here!
