Spent about 6 hours at Wolf Run for a scramble golf tourney with about 150 of us. The course was fun, even tho I am horrible at golf. Overall a great day and would return anytime.
This is a decent course and helpful staff but they really need to do a better job of marshalling players. The course wasn't busy but one group really slowed the pace and the wait on 18 to tee off was 20 minutes. Completely unacceptable for pace. Good challenge with the wind and elevation changes.
Nice greens, not fancy, no resort attached, but it has challenging holes, simple practice greens n range.
I volunteered for a function last night and they were all so nice and kind. Great food, great people and atmosphere! Couldn't ask for a better facility.
I played here after bowling in a tourney in Reno. I called the day before and told them I was a single and could they get me out in the a.m. No problem, I got offered a couple of starting time options. I got there early, not sure of the traffic or my GPS and they sent me right out about 0645. Needless to say, I made good time, and the course was in good shape. The greens are tough to read and fast. The fairways were excellent and good to hit off. Due to the three putts on a few greens I shot 89 using a Callaway set that was procured at the Pro Shop. I got done so early, that I ate some breakfast and they got me out again with a two-some at 1025. This time it was slower and warmer, but we still made reasonable time and getting a little more use to the speed of the greens and the slopes involved I had 86 with one lost ball that cost me two shots. We got done by 1430 on the second 18. Staff in the Pro-Shop was friendly and efficient. Excellent. Snack bar was quick and the food was good and reasonably priced. Low winds early in the morning, more wind in the afternoon. Rental set was used but OK. I killed the driver, but would have dumped the hy-brids for a 5 and 7 wood in a second. I hate hy-brids. Putter was an Odyssey standard putter. I brought my shoes, some balls, and tees. I hit it straight and lost only one ball. If you spray it be prepared to reload at the Pro-Shop because the desert is not a forgiving mistress. I will play here again next time I am in town. Good folks and a good track, not too long and in good shape. Greens fee was $55 and $27 on the replay. Free club use for USBC bowlers.
This is the home course for the University of Reno golf team. It is a fun course that is heavily used. It plays extremely long on a windy day, which is when we played! Take the time to play this course, you won't be disappointed.
I play this course several times a year. It is always in great shape and the differing tee locations make it a challenge for any rank of golfer.
This a challenging course! the greens are tough and the course is always is excellent condition. One of my two favorites in the Area.
I am a mid handicapper - love the elevated tees. Course in great shape! Our ladies had a great time. Everyone at the course was very accommodating!
Had a really good time, never did figure out the greens, fun playing with two regulars. Very addequate challenge.
