Great power in the carts, you can actually plan a pass unlike most tracks with under-powered cars. My daughter learned how to drive there! :-) The batting cages are great too and the restaurant has great ice cream and food, at great prices!
Nice place to get out for an afternoon to have some fun. I usually only use the mini golf course (they have 2 options, an easier course and a difficult course) but they also offer go karts, batting cages, an arcade and a place to grab some ice cream. I usually go a couple of times per year.
Had a pretty good lunch at Woodman's, then decided to take in the go karts and mini golf. The go karts cost $8, but it did not indicate how long/how many laps, so I asked - the gal said that it was about a ten minute run. Well, she was off by five minutes. You be the judge of five minutes for $8; I think a little steep for what you get. Mini golf was JUST OKAY. First, the clubs have rubber covers over the head, which gives you less of a real feel. Second, most of the course is without shade. Third, the course is in need of new carpet. I found many areas where the seams were worn, even showing the wood beneath in some points. Fourth, it isn't the prettiest course out there. Overall, just an average/expensive visit.
GREAT PLACE for family , date night etc... clean , love the go karts .. driving range and batting cages rock... great thing to do not too expensive ---- for all ages!!!
Another summer afternoon with a 9 + 7 yo boys who always on the go. We went to Mel's n had a blast. Batting cages to race cars. Food choices were great.
We took the family here for mini-golf and a meal at the connected Naticook Fish & Grill (which was good, but a bit pricey). There was a short wait to start play. Music is piped in, but it isn't so loud you can't have a conversation. The course was fun although some of the "grass" had holes and was a bit beat on. The layout was fun, but there wasn't a lot of space to stand to wait for the next hole without being in the way of the next group. No real seating through out for the older folk to rest or watch. "Club-house" was very cramped. Would have preferred an average sized club -- it seemed you either got "tall" or "children's" clubs that day. It was still a great time and we had quite a few laughs. We would still return, but hope it's refreshed.
It is a fun place to spend a day! Me and my friend went too much fun! We could of spent all day long there!
I've been here several times. Great place to take the kids for, literally, an afternoon of fun. They have mini golf, batting cages, a driving range, arcade, ice cream, go karts, and laser tag. Then in October they set up for Spooky World!!!
Took the grandsons here for the day and never had a dull moment. The package deals are the way to go since they don't have an expiration date.
I've been to Mel's a few times over the last 10 years and have seen it grow to become an place everyone can go to and have fun. Unfortunately with its rapid growth it seems the maintenance and renovation of older attractions have fallen by the wayside. We played on the Granite miniature golf course and it paled in comparison to all other courses I've been too. It was boring and dilapidated, the course was just a series of greens with corners and bumps...no fun figurines or structures.
