Sara is a gifted healer. She appreciates how everything in the body is interconnected, listens attentively until she understands the specific issues on hand, and with this knowledge devises the most effective strategies for healing via yoga and massage. My first massage session with her was a transformative experience; when I explained the origin and evolution of my chronic pain (shoulder, arm, neck, wrist) she focused on all the areas that needed attention; soon afterwards all of the pain lifted away for the first time in years, giving me hope that healing was indeed possible. The yoga sessions Sara taught (or designed for other instructors to teach) were equally very focused on restoring balance and addressing the root causes of work and stress induced pain. I only wish I had planned my time on Little Corn on Sara's availability and am seriously considering a return visit, she is a wonderful person and a true healer.
Sara besides being a great yogi is a gifted massage therapist. I would highly recommend that you include a massage in your vacation. She's a wonderful girl and her parents are super!!
When you come to LCI you have already gone on a journey to get here so my suggestion is to head over to Beach & Bungalow (B&B) and have the incredible massages that are on offer.Lady Yoga (facebook her she ace) gave me a massage that after the second session saw me no longer in pain and trying to reconnect my shoulder.Lady Yoga is a superbly talented Yogi who after we went through massages also took me through an incredible yoga routine that I now use twice a day to run along side my Kitesurfing and diving activities. All I need to say is that the mix of the two has left me a better person physically and mentally.Lady Yoga has left the island but Kelly and Jacquie are still there to offer their awesome services.Id also recommend staying for the $10 4 course meal for dinner, yeah you heard right.100% suggest going here.I would also suggest if you live in Santa Monica looking up Lady Yoga
If you are into yoga, you should definitely stop by here. I fell in love with this place and practiced here almost everyday. Sara is an amazing, loving & kind teacher who knows how to challenge every level. While I was here, Sara gave me the opportunity to teach some flow classes, out here which is absolutely thrilling when you're a travelling yoga teacher. Also her massages are to die for!
Get the massage and do the yoga. My wife had 2 massages and went to the yoga classes. Her words: "the best massage I have ever had."
My boyfriend and I had both the massage and the yoga classes. Both were amazing! Sarah who does both is a gentle soul that is very talented at both venues. The studio itself is an incredibly relaxing place, in the jungle where you can hear the birds call and the ocean in the distance. We would reccommend this to anyone who visits the island.
If you've been to Little Corn Island, you know that it is an absolutely magical place. The laid back atmosphere of the island, the gentle breezes, the friendly people - everything about it allows for one to truly escape any worries or stresses one may have back home. So, for me to assert that this yoga studio was the best part of my partner and my ten day stay on Little Corn is a hefty claim, but also a completely true one.My partner is a fitness instructor and I am an avid runner, so we came to Little Corn with plans to do as little as possible, with a dash of body work/self care. We stumbled upon Firefly Yoga on our first day and signed up for a Restorative Yoga class that afternoon. Neither one of us practice yoga regularly at home, but we have done a bit of restorative when we find the time to make a class. First of all, the studio is amazing. It is in the jungle behind the Little Corn B&B property and has no walls, instead it is a framed structure that is screened in to prevent bugs from getting in. Great start, I must say.Sara is also a fantastic instructor. She started practice by asking about existing injuries. My partner has a recurring issue with his piriformis, so she took special care in addressing his injury in practice the entire time we were there. Every day our 1.5 hour sessions blew by like no time had passed whatsoever. In addition to being a yoga teacher, she is also a massage practitioner/body work therapist -- this knowledge of the body certainly helps to inform her yoga practice. We loved our daily practice with Sara and are in major withdrawl from our daily dose of yogic happiness.
Daily practice in paradise w/ wonderful instructors and fabulous screened, outdoor studio. I fell in love with the bird singing as we moved into shavasana! Would go back in a minute!
I got a massage from Sara while I was staying at Little Corn Beach and Bungalow. During our seven days stay my husband and our friends got to know Sara pretty well. She is a kind and engaging person. We came to realize that she really cares.
I was lucky enough to stay on the Island for a while and therefore enjoyed many yoga classes with the incredibly talented instructor, Sara. I have been doing yoga in almost every spot I have visited in the last year of travelling and firefly studio by far has the most beautiful spot, midst the jungle with sounds of the ocean in the background. Sara is a beautiful, kind person who makes a very intuitive instructor and massage therapist. She often tailored the classes to my personal physical and emotional needs. I treated myself to 2 massages - unbeatable! Super relaxing and incredibly stress-releasing. Cannot recommend highly enough! Hope to be back soon!
