If you like to hike, boat, or just hang out, this is the place. Yes, there is a fee, but rangers and maintenance takes money, and it helps keep Del Valle the great venue it. is. There are miles of hiking trails of all various levels. Eagles? Lots of them as well as other raptors and other birds. Picnics or camping have good locations and are clean and well kept. Boating and fishing are also very doable with with a number of species. But BE AWARE: Your boat (IF you don't rent one there) will be inspected. If there is ANY wetness, you won't be permitted to launch as they are trying to keep the zebra mussel from infesting the water. Clean and dry? Cool, launch and fish or just go around the lake. We are lucky to have such a facility so close.
It is good place for who loves boating, swimming etc. Good view and hills with animals like Deers, Snakes etc.
It was barely open and hardly any visitors but we enjoyed the company of about 30 deer! We did meet staff at the bait shop, very friendly and helpful.
Wonderful terrain for any age group for long walks or hiking. It is so close to Livermore that if you are anywhere near there take a couple hours and spend them outdoors on a trail at DelValleVery limited bathroom facilities and it is a carry in carry out park. Small fee for parking
YOU will love this place......low key happy easy time in a lovely clean natural welcoming environment.....the beach, trails to wander, even trails that are longer and hook up to Sunol Regional Park on the other side of the hills.......different size boats to rent, paddle boats!! Your own boat, and a great tour boat we really enjoyed with the local history shared by the driver .....we ended our fun easy family day together with the tour of the lake (a bit over an hour) ...(MIGHT BE seasonal so check online or call ) they have a great web site via East Bay regional park Dist that gives all information and services available .....our grandsons thought it was a terrific day and so did we !!!
Excluding the current drought a nice place to visit, especially with kids. Swimming lake where you can rent boats, kayaks and fishing gear. Overnight camping. Usually clean and safe. Weekend with good weather get very busy and much more crowded. Dogs on leashes are allowed, summer time lifeguards for swim areas.
This is a beautiful campground that is well-maintained, has great sites - many with full hook-ups, and has clean bathrooms. We spent a great weekend relaxing and walking, the weather was great and the leaves were turning. The price for our site was very reasonable. For these points, this campground earns a 5!However, although we are not cell/computer 'leashed', we do require a limited degree of connectivity for our phones and hotspot (we are both self-employed and need to keep on top of emails). For this reason alone, we downgraded our satisfaction to a 3. If this problem is resolved, then we'll return for as many weekends as we can ... for it truly is a oasis from the busy world ... without much driving!
We love the accessibility to bank or boat fish. Very friendly staff. Nice hiking trails. Lots of nature to see. Turkey, squirels, deer. Etc. camp grounds are clean and well maintained. Excellent for large family day trips.
Very pretty setting with fishing, swimming and boating facilities. Many hiking and equestrian trial suitable for all levels.
We recently just discovered Del Valle and I have no idea what took us so long. It is a great place to let the dog run loose and get in some hiking. I also have a paddle board that I like to take out and it is a great place to launch and cruise around. There are multiple trails and my favorite is actually the horse trail that starts before you even enter the park. If you use this trail you save yourself the $5 to get in. Round trip on this trail is a little over 5 miles. Since it has been so dry foxtails are EVERYWHERE! So be sure to check your dogs (coat, toes, eyes, ears, nose) and make sure they do not have any embedded. You also want to be sure that your dog has a rattlesnake vaccine if you will be hiking frequently. We have also gone on a couple Saturday mid mornings and it is CRAZY inside the park with family picnics, volleyball games, music, BBQ etc. If you want a quite afternoon in the Summer this probably isn't the best time. I am so glad we found this place and will most likely purchase the annual pass to all east bay parks to save us money for when we actually go into the park.
